The Himalayas let you venture into adventurous and stunning treks like the Brahmatal Trek. The amount of snow at the trek lures every trekker to take up the challenge. The Tranquilizing forests coupled with the impressive views of the Himalayas are a treat to the shutterbugs.
Brahmatal reveals a heavenly facet in winter when the snow gently falls on its slopes. The frozen lake with the mighty Himalayan peaks overlooking it, creates a mesmerising ambience. The trekkers are awed by the views of the mountain summits which are over 7000 metres high. Where else would we encounter such high peaks at such close proximity, we wonder!

How to Reach?
Step 1: Reach Delhi via train or flight
Step 2: Travel from Delhi to Kathgodam Station
The Kathgodam station is one of the main stations in the district and it is an old station. It has good connectivity to many places like Lucknow, Delhi, and Howrah. It is essential to book the tickets at least one month in advance as this route is always in demand.
By Train (Delhi to Kathgodam):-
Board Ranikhet Express, Train No. 15013 for Kathgodam station. Departs Delhi at 22:30hrs. Arrives at Kathgodam at 05:05am. (Overnight Journey) or the Uttar sampark kranti (15035), Departs Delhi at 16:00hrs. Arrives at Kathgodam @ 22:40hrs.
From Dehardun take the Doon Express (4120). Departs Dehardun at 10:30 pm and arrives at Kathgodam at 7:10 pm (8hrs.journey).
By Bus (Delhi to Kathgodam):-
Regular buses ply from ISBT Delhi Anand Vihar station to Kathgodam. Buses that go to Nainital stop at Haldwani which is a twin town of Kathgodham (8 hrs. Journey).

23rd January 2017 (Day 1): From Kathgodam to Lohajung
Distance: 215 kms
8 Hours drive to Lohajung ( base camp for the Brahmatal trek)
Reach Kathgodam by 7am.
Withdraw required amount of money for your expenses at Kathgodam to avoid inconvenience.
Lohajung is the place where goddess parvati had a jung (fight) with the demon Lohasur. Literally translated, Lohajung means ‘Fight with Lohasur’.
24th January 2017 (Day 2)- Lohajung to Bekaltal (5hrs)
Altitude: 2,320 m to 3,010 m (6 km)
Time: 4-5 hours
Spot the Kail valley as you climb higher. Kail valley is marked by the union of Kail and Pindari rivers.
The beauty cannot be described simply in words. Amidst thick oak forests, the lake gleams peacefully in summer, while in winter, it is frozen.
Day 2 ends at a camp near the beautiful lake - Khopdaliya.
25th January 2017 (Day 3) - Bekaltal to Bhramatal (5hrs)
Altitude: 3,010 m to 3,273 m (2.5km)
Time: 3-4 hours
In the Himalayas, the weather decides your trails and campsites. The day entails a trek till the serene Brahmatal Lake followed by setting up a camp by the lake side.
When you begin from Bekaltal for Brahmatal, you will pass by a forest of Oak trees. Camp @ Brahmatal.
26th January 2017 (Day 4) - Brahmatal to Brahmatal Peak & Back (7hrs)
Altitude: 3,270 to 2,850 m
Time: 7 hours, 5 km
A trek of almost an hour will take you to Chota Jhandidar. Pass through Chota and Bada Jhandidar to reach Brahmatal. It’s a curvy trail sandwiched between valleys on either side.
2.5 to 3 hours is all you need to reach Brahmatal top. En route, one gets to see the splendour of the mighty Himalayas, esp. Mt. Trishul and Nandaghunti. Clear skies will let you indulge in a fascinating view of the Himalayas.
The campsite for the day is just 3 hours away from the peak, with a trail passing through forests.
27th January 2017 (Day 5) - Brahmatal to Lohajung (5hrs)
Altitude: 2,850 m to 2,325 m
Time: 2.5 hours, 3.7 km
A full night’s rest at the Brahmatal campsite, surrounded by trees will energise you for the descend. Lohajung is just 3.7kms or approximately 2.5hours away. After exiting the forest a half an hour walk leads to Malling. The stone trail along the houses on the slopes leads to Lohajung."
28th January 2017 (Day 6): From Lohajung to Kathgodam Depart from Lohajung to Kathgodam.

Please understand the following Terms and Conditions before registering for the trek
Passengers will be picked up from Kathgodam railway station. The journey will begin from Day 1, 7am onwards. Our vehicle will be linked with the Delhi- Ranikhet express and company’s vehicle will be available from 6 am for pick up.
The minimum age is 16 years. There is no upper age limit. Fitness is the only criteria.
Usually men and women between the ages of 21 and 45 are considered to be perfect.
This Trek consists of 10 to 15 members.
Trek in the Himalayas with high altitude requires sheer fitness. With lower levels of oxygen in your body you must have a high endurance capacity. Cardiovascular training is so totally important. You must be capable to trek 2 km in 30 minutes. If you are unable to do so then trekking can be a difficult task.
All Trekkers are expected to carry their own backpack. If you want to opt for Backpack offloading for the whole trek, please do inform us at least 7 days prior to the trek. He/ she will be charged ₹1400 as an additional cost. Backpacks should not weigh more than 10 kg’s.
Additional charges will be applied for offloading last minute, on slope.
In case of emergency such as trekkers feels themselves unfit and are unable to continue the trek, in such case with the help of a “porter” they will be dropped till taxi stand from there taxi will be provided by the company and the fare will be paid by the trekker himself.
In an event of natural calamitous or in case of any breakage of your own instruments etc, the company will not be liable.
If due to some reasons you want to cancel the trek you have to contact us via email or through phone to request the cancellation, and it will be accepted within 24 hrs.
Cancellation fees are as follows:-
Cancellations will be valid with full refund only if the cancellation request is provided before 30 days from the start of the trek.
For cancelling within 20 to 30 days: 50% will be refunded
For cancelling within 10 to 20 days: 30% will be refunded.*
If the cancellation is requested from 10 days before the trek starts in that case refund amount will not be given and no liabilities will be held by the company.
Note – 4% will be deducted by the company on refund
