Presenting an artist who has mastered the charcoal medium with unmatched brilliance and created beautiful figurative artworks, which have an element of the real & surreal.

The journey...

A post graduate in commerce, Gautam Patole chose to shift from being a photojournalist to an artist in 2009. His first love in arts was ceramic painting; but it was the charcoal medium that he managed to tame, transporting us to the bygone era of black & white. Gautam Patole's works are mostly figurative.

"A tint of colour adds beauty to the charcoal. I paint to give happiness to the viewers. The basic underlying goal of each of my work is to give joy to those who see my work," says the Artist.

The Artist's philosophy behind life & painting is based on what the renowned American Essayist & Poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) says,

“To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. “

Whilst one can describe the collection as figurative, the spectrum is broad as it covers traditional & sensual, feminine grace in its full essence, the innocence of children, the wisdom of the monks & also the animal kingdom. Each artwork is epic and narrates a story of its own.

Gautam Patole & his art have a persona and presence that engages you. The visual of each artwork evokes infinite beauty & substance. The Artist's strokes are powerful and speak in more ways than one. This is one time when the shades of black & white communicate in a multi-dimensional way and the viewer is quite simply in awe of each masterpiece.

This collection has the bearings of being the highlight, centre piece holding fort in your homes. Gautam's art has been appreciated & been part of the personal collection of various Bollywood stars to the likes of Amitabh Bachan, Anupam Kher, Sushmita Sen, Raageshwari Loomba, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Bedi, among others.

Gautam himself has been instrumental to promote many deserving Artists.

IN ASSOCIATION WITH CONSULATE GENERAL OF ARGENTINA

"Today, culture and the arts in Argentina are inextricably linked, the arts being an excellent way to understand the rich culture of the country. Argentina's fascinating art & culture is an eclectic mix of strong European influences fused with indigenous tradition, says Jalpa H Vithalani, Creative Head & Director, Cosmic Heart Gallery.

The country's history has given rise to passionate creative expression through art, literary, music and cinematic production and diverse architecture. From the tango to the traditional fiestas, Argentina continues to grow as an artistic and cultural role model throughout the Americas," adds Jalpa.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Pablo Ramirez Arnols artistic training began in the classrooms of the National School of Fine Arts PRILIDIANO PUEYRREDON, Buenos Aires. From 1999 to 2004, he served as a teacher of art (drawing and painting-sculpture) for blind and visually impaired in the Eduardo Svori Museum, City of Buenos Aires.

Until 2016 the Artist was in the special school Portal del Sol; making murals and activities of public art in schools across the country under the Exchange Project and Service Learning. In 2004 Pablo Ramirez Arnol was awarded the annual Scholarship at the INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM ARTISTS, dependent on the National Directorate of Cultural Policy and International Co-operation of the Ministry of Culture of the Nation.

I work as an illustrator of children's books and poetry, highlighting among some, the book "Variations of light" with Diana Bellessi, editor of Magic Oranges and actively participated in poetry in schools across the country, encouraging reading and art as a whole, shares the Artist.

This talented Artist has participated in group and solo exhibitions in the National Artistic Space and since 2006, performed activities and public art mural in the MUROSUR group - participating in several international meetings representing our country, says Acting Consul General, Alejandro Zothner Meyer.

Pablos strength lies in his sensitivity, sensibilities with various mediums and creative expression, adds Jalpa Vithalani, the Curator & Gallerist.

Pablo himself is fascinated with the hustle in Mumbai, the hi-rise buildings, the ocean and much more, as he explores the city. He has created a unique collection of watercolor paintings 'Walking India', showcasing these visuals.

The Artist had a wonderful visit to Dharamshala recently and what touched him was the mountains and stillness. From this birthed an exquisite Monk series. These are representational of the immense strength & peace that comes from stillness, not renunciation.

This visually powerful collection is exclusively showcased at Cosmic Heart Gallery. Easy to put up sizes in any space and beautifully framed, these watercolor paintings make attractive collages when displayed together as a series as well.

ABOUT ARGENTINE ART

The Argentina Republic, since its creation, was characterized by a wealth of creative visual arts. It is a land rich in the crafts, the colours and techniques of master craftsmen from the native population. It's visual history speaks at length of artists & travelers in vigorous search of new trends & pictorial models, collectors & lovers of good art and also artists who discovered a breakthrough in models for future generations. Towards the end of the last century, we find profound political changes in America that led to new actors in the artistic arena, as is in the case of Latin American Muralism to show how often they emerge from their own history as a country, the possible languages that allow to us translate the feelings of people.

MESSAGE FROM THE CONSULATE GENERAL AND PROMOTION CENTRE OF THE ARGENTINE REPUBLIC

The Consulate General and Promotion Centre of the Argentine Republic in Mumbai was opened on 1st April, 2009. Apart from the Embassy of Argentina in New Delhi, this office is the second Argentine Representation in India. Since its inception, it has strived to build and strengthen long-lasting relations between Argentina and India, through a wide range of consular, cultural, trade and investment promotional activities and initiatives.

QUOTE BY ACTING CONSUL GENERAL, ALEJANDRO ZOTHNER MEYER,

Argentina has a long and rich history of artists from the various fields of performing arts, music, literature, architecture, cinema and visual arts. The works of some of our most renowned artists have found a place amongst the most recognized collections in galleries across the world. Muralist Pablo Ramirez Arnol is among the new breed of Argentine artists, whose work is a representation of the Latin American/Mexican school of Muralism. We are happy to be associating with Cosmic Art Gallery as they give us the opportunity to encourage and support Argentine art and artists like him.

THE ART OF MINAKARI

Enamel work and decorating metals with colorful and baked coats with mina glaze, is one of the distinguished courses of art in Isfahan, Iran.

Minakari or Enamelling is the art of painting, colouring and ornamenting the surface of metals by fusing over it brilliant colours that are decorated in an intricate design which comprises of a pattern of birds and animals on a floral background in light blue, green, yellow and red.

Mina is the feminine form of Minoo in Persian, meaning heaven. Mina refers to the Azure colour of heaven. The Iranian craftsmen of Sassanid era invented this art and Mongols spread it to India, Turkey and other countries.

Fine silver is used in almost all enameling because the enamel (glass) melts and sticks best to a pure metal. In simple words, enameling is the process of making metal models (fine silver usually) and then melting various colors and types of glass on to the model to create an objet dart.

KHATAMKARI: ARTISTIC HERITAGE FROM PERSIA

Delicate and meticulous marquetry, has been produced since the Safavid period: when Khatam was so popular in the court that even princes learned this technique at the same level of music or painting.

"Khatam" means "incrustation", and "Khatam-kari" (Persian: ), "incrustation work". This craft consists in the production of incrustation patterns (generally star shaped), with thin sticks of wood (ebony, teak, ziziphus, orange, rose), brass & camel bones.

This craft has existed for more than 700 years and is still perennial in Shiraz and Isfahan.

TIBETAN MEDICINE

Tibetan medicine (SOWA RIGPA Science of healing) is a holistic form of medicine which alleviates disease and promotes health through herbal medicines, diet and lifestyle advice, manual body therapies, mental, emotional support and spiritual guidance.

Tibetan medicine is a science, art and philosophy that provides a holistic approach to health care. It is a science because its principles are enumerated in a systematic and logical framework based on an understanding of the body and its relationship to the environment. It is an art because it uses diagnostic techniques based on the creativity, insight, subtlety and compassion of the medical practitioner. And it is a philosophy because it embraces the key Buddhist principles of altruism, karma and ethics.

TIBETAN MEDICAL SYSTEM & HEALTH CARE

Tibetan Medical System or the Tibetan wisdom of healing having its rich historical background is one of the renowned & old aged medical traditions in the world. Sorig herbal healthcare products: are formulated from pure natural herbs which are rich in healing and rejuvenating potencies to sustain and nourish against harmful chemical substances and ageing. THANGKA PAINTINGS & A BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION OF BUDDHAS

A Thangka is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist painting on cotton, or silk appliqu, usually depicting a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala.

Art is used as a meditation tool by Tibetans to help bring one further down the path to enlightenment.

The Buddhist Vajrayana practitioner uses a thanga image of their yidam, or meditation deity, as a guide, by visualizing "themselves as being that deity, thereby internalizing the Buddha qualities" Thangkas hang on or beside altars and may be hung in the bedrooms or offices as beautiful wall hangings.

As part of the Navroze celebrations this year, Cosmic Heart Gallery in collaboration with The Culture House of IRAN hosted a beautiful Calligraphy workshop with Kaveh Afraie from Tehran

Calligraphy is defined as art of beautiful writing adhering to aesthetics and grace. Not only does it have great aesthetic value, but also powerful energy signatures and frequency that it translates into homes, as each writing carries erudite sayings, prayers periodicals and deeds of the Prophet.

Moalla is the latest achievement in the art of calligraphy in Iranian society, after Shekasteh Nas'taliq writing was invented about 150 years ago. Moalla (The Exalted) Calligraphy has been innovated by Hamid Ajami, whom the Artist acknowledges as his master or teacher. Moalla calligraphy is based on the calligraphers own subjective and imaginative interpretation of various traditional calligraphic styles, resulting in the emerging of a new visual style.

-There was a talk on Mo'alla Calligraphy by Jalpa Vithalani

- Short film on Iran by Culture House of IRAN

- Live demos and sharing by Kaveh Afraie

- And the group excitedly tried their hand at Moalla calligraphy with this Master Artist!

The highlight of the evening was that all participants took home an artwork with your name written in Persian on art paper as a Navroze gift.

Cosmic Heart Gallery is an art space with a difference, where we also conduct a lot of workshops to touch the innate sense of creativity of every person of whose path we touch.

Happy World Art Day!

Cosmic Heart Gallery Thu, 13 Apr
A rendition of dimensions, a strong palette of colours, an empty artist...truly allowing the universe to flow in.

Delighted to present Natasha Lalla, who creates stunning art with her swirling finger strokes. One in a million artists who does not own a brush!

There was a time when 'universe' meant 'all there is'. 'String theory' smoothes out the inconsistencies that exist between quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity. It posits that the entire universe can be explained in terms of really small strings that vibrate in ten or eleven dimensions meaning dimensions we cannot see.

These youthful flights of fancy, with their imagined parallel realities, resonate with an increasingly prominent theme in modern science the possibility of 'hidden' worlds lying beyond the one we know.

Parallel realities or parallel realms, is used to embrace this hidden reality that not just our universe, but a spectrum of others that may be out there.

"To me, it is enormously exciting, to step outside the everyday and really look at the universe, within these mathematical terms, on its grandest scales." says the artist Natasha Lalla."It is at once humbling and stirring to imagine just how expansive reality may be."

This collection of art is an exploration of such possibilities, a considered journey through the science of parallel realms or universes. Through this art we invite you to enter an imaginary parallel world constructed of light and driven by fantasy. Says Jalpa H Vithalani, Creative Head & Director, Cosmic Heart Gallery.

This stunning collection of art has depicted these realms in a mesmerizing way.
