It's monsoon and there is no better time to unwind and explore the Yeoor Hills which are located in the eastern side of SGNP. It is home to some of the most varied species of butterflies, insects and birds in the city. Listen to the sound of different birds chirping, walk through water streams and enjoy the rains amidst trees.
If you're lucky you may even get to see some small reptiles and mammals. This nature trail is suitable for all those nature lovers be it children or adults. So grab your raincoats and tighten your shoes as it is going to be a perfect place to spend the weekend with your children.

About Yeoor Hills
Yeoor hills is a buffer zone. It is located at the eastern side of Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Yeoor Hills lies just a few kms from Thane. The area is popular for nature lovers for children education trips, nature walks and bird watching.This trail is one of the most pleasurable walks as it crisscrosses many small but a rapid forest stream at different points and wading across this knee-deep, crystal clear water is nothing less than therapeutic for a city-sick soul. This stream also offers amazing opportunities to encounter myriad life forms and some really quite and essential solitude.

Leading this trail is Wildlife Scientist Nikit Surve, a young and promising wildlife zoologist whose recent project in June 2015 on leopard census in SGNP made breaking news across the city.

With Nikit Surve's guidance and presence on this trail, one stands to experience and learn much in detail about the wondrous wildlife specifically in the SGNP forest. His deep understanding of the SGNP forest and its inhabitants will make this trial an enriching experience for any nature lover.

This trail is a perfect getaway to unwind from the chaos of the city and to explore the forest life on a easy level.

Trip Itinerary:

  • Meet at Sanjay Gandhi National Park Thane entrance at 7 am
  • Introduction & briefing by our Naturist (Nikit Surve)
  • Trail begins 
  • Exploring the surrounding as we walk through the hills.
  • Learn alot about the forest life and the creatures living in it.
  • Breakfast 
  • Trail ends by 11 am


  • Spotting & Guiding by Wildlife Scientist Nikit Surve
  • Breakfast
  • Main gate entry tickets
  • Guidance by Certified Mountaineers trained at Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering, Jammu & Kashmir
  • First Aid by Certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR), trained by Wilderness Medical Associates International, USA.


  • The difficulty level of this hike is Easy to Moderate. The trail is short and thus makes it perfect for beginners looking to have a relaxed morning in the forest.
  • How To Pack & Prepare:
  • No.1 Rule of trekking is Pack Light
  • Grab a small to medium sized bag and put in items mentioned in our Essentials list.
  • Please Avoid carrying an Umbrella.

A Sturdy Pair Of Shoes:
- Check your shoes for possible wear and tear.


  • 1-2 litres of water

  • Personal Identification
  • Personal medication if any 
    (Please do let us know in advance about any medical conditions, if any.)

The Right Clothing:
Sportswear are recommended.
Please avoid wearing bright clothes/jeans.
Ensure that you are comfortable in what you choose to wear and that the material does not restrict your movement while trekking and climbing.
Full clothing is recommended to avoid direct contact with plants and trees that might cause an itch.

Staying open-minded, positive & faithful 
A trek in the forest requires for one to stay positive and open-minded at all times regardless of the situation. Mind you, this is not a picnic but a trek in the mountains. Mother nature could choose for the weather and environment to be tough or easy on us. However, it is important for us to stay grounded and keep our heads over our shoulders, to not panic and to keep confidence in the decision of the trek leaders. Apply Mosquito Repellent and Please do not litter.

50% Cancellation Fee will apply if your booking is cancelled before 5 pm on 9th August.
100% Cancellation Fee will apply if your booking is cancelled after 5 pm on 10th August.
