Learn to doodle intricate mandalas in a fun & informal space. For people who have never painted, or are scared of drawing this is a great opportunity to get started! We take care of all the art materials, refreshments & all the guidance needed.

We have the best eco pigments pens from Faber Castell that makes doodling patterns a breeze.

The word mandala comes from the Sanskrit language in ancient India, these sacred circles have been found in hundreds of cultures. They are always symmetrical, and they always draw your eye in towards the center. It represents the wholeness, or the strength and unity of community, or the lovely, cyclical progression of time.

Mandalas also occur quite often in nature. In the nesting rings of a tree trunk, the sectioned slice of an orange, and the way the great Universe itself spins around and cradles its clouds.

I had booked this workshop for my girlfriend to spend a nice afternoon painting together and I must say it was worth it. Initially I was quite sceptical given some of the reviews. It was hosted by Anushka, a very warm person who is ready to help. Following points to consider :1) This workshop is for complete beginners like me. Its wonderful for those who wanna understand what knife painting is. You will not be guided on specific strokes and techniques. Very basic techniques are covered which are sufficient for the painting. Remember, its not a master class. 2) Even though, people away from the host could not sometimes hear what she is saying, the host made it a point to attend each and every one of them and answer their queries. The host was also kind enough to allow a late entry which I can understand how difficult it is to accommodate in a group session. 3) This workshop will allow you to understand the basic structure of a painting and how to approach it step by step. It is up to you how much you learn from it. Go with a open mind, not to achieve perfection. Its ok to make mistakes, its ok if the strokes or colours are not exactly as the painting you will be referring to. Its art, let yourself flow, you will only end up making beautiful mistakes. Above all, it was a wonderful experience. Anyone who wishes to start painting, this workshop is highly recommended. - by Pritesh Visave for Palette Knife Painting Workshop by Bombay Drawing Room, Worli organized by Bombay Drawing Room .
