CRAFTS MUSEUM DELHI

Somewhere in the middle of all the malls, events and yet another place to eat, we tend to forget the essence and rich history of our capital city. Lucky for us, some spaces have dedicated themselves to remind us.

The National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum commonly known as the National Crafts Museum in New Delhi is one of the largest crafts museums in India. It is run by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The museum is situated on the corner of the Pragati Maidan, facing the Purana Qila complex.

Located in: Pragati Maidan

Address: Pragati Maidan Bhairon Marg, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, Delhi 110001

Modeled as a traditional Indian village, the museum aims to preserve, display and promote Indian crafts and weaves. Also called Crafts Museum, it houses over 35,000 rare pieces, showcasing traditional Indian paintings, embroidery, textiles, and crafts, including the 300-year-old Bhoota collection from Karnataka, rare Kashmiri Dushalas, rare brocade and Baluchari saris, and Kutch embroidery.
