Hii, My name is Bhushan. I attended your today's Start-up Saturday session at AWS Delhi, It was superb, very informative, you guys are doing a gr8 job. Keep doing the gr8 work, all d best Today's session was about legalities start-up should follow. All Your volunteers were very helpful except Mr. Ajay Gupta After a session, I spoke to one of your volunteer Mr. Ajay Gupta. I needed some help with my startup. I have an innovative business idea and business model. For which I have copyrights and patents ( international). I asked Mr. Ajay Gupta for help. Before disclosing business idea I asked him to go for an NDA. He denied doing so. But kept emphasizing on disclosing my business Idea. I told him that today's session was abt start-up legalities which taught us the importance of an NDA and how can I disclose my business idea to someone I am meeting for the first time. He said,” listen it is you who need it, I don’t need it. It is your requirement, not mine.So disclose the idea. I showed my inability to disclose the idea without an NDA. Still, he kept on emphasizing on disclosing business idea. It is his right to not sign NDA. But he should not have said that "You need it and I don’t.". What was that? That was a very insensitive statement. Even after my denial to disclose without NDA he kept emphasizing on disclosing, this is very unfair and untrustworthy. I was very disappointed We just had finished the session on legalities where the importance of an NDA was discussed and after 10 to 15 min of a session, the headstart volunteer himself was emphasizing me to disclose the idea without NDA. As a start-up, if I approach a well-reputed organization like headstart, I expect it to be more sensitive towards start-ups and trustworthy. I have conveyed my resentment and disappointment to Mr.Ashish. I do not have any Axe to grind against Mr. Ajay Gupta. It was the 1st time I interacted with him. And I am really really very very disappointed. This type of behavior was not expected. I have spent two and half years in a research and development. I have wandered all over India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari; met lots of people talked to them and that's how I got my innovation. I interacted with as many a people as I could across India but this was the first time I encountered such a weird situation. I humbly request you, people, to be more sensitive and respectful towards startups. It's not because they are a start-up and they need you, Its because we all are the part of the same ecosystem. If they were not a start-up they probably wouldn't have come to you. Kindly, refrain from such words and behavior. Apart from this incident, everything was superb. - by Bhushan for Financial & Legal Compliance | Startup Saturday Delhi organized by Headstart Delhi .
