Tanjore Painting has always been associated with our rich cultural heritage and allured people from all walks of life due to the use of low reliefs, real gold and it's symbolism to showcasing wealth & peace.
Thus, with an effort aimed at teaching the extensive process of making a traditional Tanjore painting Culture Chauraha opens it's doors to everyone interested in the arts & crafts to come, learn with us and get a sense of magnitude and grandeur of the craft.
Learn from the Master Artist herself Mrs Ritu Sangal (Co-founder & Director of Culture Chauraha) who has been a practising Tanjore artist for the last 33 years and has received many accolades for her contribution to reviving the art form in a contemporary setting. Awarded with the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award in 2003 and the Delhi Handicraft State Merit Award in 2007. Her work "Tree of Life" in Tanjore is part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan's Art Collection bought by then Honourable President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, amongst other private and public collections which house her works.
To make it flexible and of the highest interest to our students: - Choose a sketch of your choice and size from our huge repository of personal sketches by Mrs Ritu Sangal. - Get to carry work back home in-between the classes with you and see it materialise gradually into a beautiful, intricate work of art. (Trust us, you'll want to work on it even at home). - Choose your own timeline of finishing the painting, so as to get the highest quality of work output. - Unlimited classes for the timeline mutually decided.
- Fees for the classes will depend on the size and sketch of the painting you decide on.
