Details

Exciting music, electrifying performances and unforgettable experiences, the biggest musical battle Forum Rock ON is back!

A platform that provides an opportunity for competent artists to showcase their talent and get a chance to win stunning prizes.

The event is classified into three genres:

  1. Rock
  2. Fusion
  3. POP

The shortlisted participants will get to perform at the prelims on the 8th February (Pop), 9th February (Fusion) & 10th February (Rock). The grand finale will be held on 16th February simultaneously across Forum Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Mysuru.

3 winners will be selected from each genre by the contest judge and is entitled for prizes worth 1 lac in each category.

Entry is free and through registration only.

When is the event going to held?

The event will be held on the 16th of Feb, 2019.

 Who can register for Forum Rock On?

A band with a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 8 members can register for Forum Rock On.

 What are the genres for Forum Rock On?

Rock

Fusion

Pop

What is the last date to submit entries for each genre?

The last day to submit entries is Monday, 28th January 2019

Can I register on the day of the event?

No. Requests for registration will not be entertained post closure of registration dates i.e. 28th January 2019.

What is the entry fee for each run category?

There is no registration fee for participation in Forum Rock On.

What is the minimum age eligibility for participation in Forum Rock On?

Participants must be at least 15 years of age to be eligible for Forum Rock On. There is no maximum age limit. Parental consent is mandatory for participants below the age of 18.

How will my entry acceptance be intimated to me?

Every participant registering online will receive participation confirmation via an e-mail. Every participant registering at the Information Desk in the mall will receive a receipt. If you are shortlisted, our executive will get in touch with you.

 Can I register for more than one genre?

No. Participants can apply only for one genre in the Event. Multiple applications from group participants will entail in rejection.

 Can I fill a single application form on behalf of all the members of the group participating in the event?

Yes. One person can fill a single registration form on behalf of all the members of the group participating in the event. The name, age and contact number of all the members must be mentioned in the registration form.

 On what grounds can my entry be rejected or declared invalid?

Your entry can be rejected on any of the grounds listed below.

  • Incomplete form submitted
  • Waiver not signed
  • More than one application received from the same applicant
  • Any other relevant reason.

What is the performance duration for a group?

Prelims- 10 minutes for set-up and 10 minutes for performance and 5 minutes to break down the equipment.

Finale- 10 minutes for set-up and 10 minutes for performance and 5 minutes to break down the equipment.

Can I change the genre once I have registered?

No. Requests for a change in the genre will not be entertained post registration.

Why is it that I have not received my confirmation e-mail despite registering?

There could be several reasons:

  • The email might have been blocked by your mail server or treated as spam.
  • The email might have gone directly to your junk mail. Please check your junk mail in this case.
  • Error in email id given at the time of registration. You could contact the Registration team at (mall specific email addresses, contact numbers of the representatives) with the following details: Full Name and genre category.

Event guidelines

Event guidelines
  1. A band is defined as any number of people. The minimum members of the band must be 2 and maximum members per band is limited to 8.
  2. Only band members listed on the registration form will be admitted on stage.
  3. All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used by Forum in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without compensation or rights to royalties for such use
  4. On the day of performance, band members must be dressed in clothing free from obscenities. This is a family oriented event at shopping centers with all age groups and backgrounds therefore only activities suitable for families will be permitted.
  5. Band name and lyrics of performance songs should not contain any obscenities.
  6. Judges can deduct points for any use of obscenities.
  7. The entire performance must be violence-free and suitable for families.
  8. If a band incites moshing or any other sort of violence in the crowd, the band will be immediately disqualified and the performance will be stopped.
  9. The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated. If any band member is suspected to be under the influence of any illegal substance, the entire band will be disqualified and the concerned legal authorities will be notified. In addition, any band member under the age of 21 who is suspected of alcohol use will also be grounds for disqualification.
  10. All band members are required to be present at least 30 minutes prior to event time to check in with the coordinator. If all band members are not present and ready to setup for performance 15 minutes before going on stage, the band will be disqualified.
  11. All participants are required to be courteous and respectful toward other participating musicians
  12. All bands must bring their own equipment required for their performance. The management will only provide the following along with a functional sound system,

  • Drum Kit set 5 piece( kick mic, main kick out mic, snare & others)
  • Drum riser
  • Guitar amplifier 2 left & right
  • Base amp 1
  • DI (direct input) 4
  • Stage monitors 4
  • Mic 4 units

  1. Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment.
  2. Each band will be given the opportunity to play up to 3 songs.
  3. All songs must be original or cover songs or songs by other artists.
  4. There will be a strict time limit of 10 minutes for each band on stage. Each band has to plan its songs accordingly and no more than 10 minutes is allowed for all the 3 songs.
  5. Each band will be given 10 minutes to set up and 5 minutes to break down their equipment.
  6. Bands may not use pre-recorded sound material. All bands must play LIVE.

Prize Categories: One winner (band and not individual members) will be selected from each genre by the Contest Judges and is entitled to prizes fixed by the management. Gift tax if any, will be applicable and deducted.

 

JUDGING SYSTEM:

  • The judging system is designed to keep the contest open to all skill levels and song choices while keeping the event fair and competitive.
  • There are categories on which each band will be judged and scored. Each judge will be given a scoring sheet for the band.
  • At the end of each performance, the total number of points a band receives from each judge will be added together with the other judges to reach the bands final score.
  • In the event of a tie, there will be a tie breaker in which each band in the tie will have an opportunity to play one song of their choice. The judges will be instructed to disregard the previous scores for those bands in question and start a new scoring sheet.

The management decision on the winners will be final and the management reserves the right to not disclose the points gained by each band during the judging process.

  1. Entry strictly by registration only. To register on the ground, visit helpdesk/information desk at any Forum Mall by filling the registration forms and dropping your CD/Pen Drive with your audition video. For those registering online, the video should be uploaded on YouTube and the link to be shared during registration. A copy of the link to be shared to the respective mall contact person through the mail.
  2. All parts of the registration process must be completed in order for bands to be eligible to compete in the Forum Rock On Battle of the Bands competition.
  3. A band is defined as any number of people. The minimum members of the band must be 2 and maximum members per band is limited to 8.
  4. Details of all the band members have to be filled in during registration. All members must sign that they have read and understood the rules and guidelines and terms and conditions pertaining to the event.
  5. Performers registering (must include all the members of the band) should be at least 15 years of age and above. Parental consent is mandatory for participants below the age of 18.
  6. All participants have to submit government ID proof for validating their age.
  7. Registrants will receive a confirmation email or phone call when their registration is completed.
  8. Exchange of registration will not be accepted under any circumstances and once registered the registration is not transferable.
  9. Loss or damage of registration form will not be entertained.
  10. Latecomers cannot be admitted until a suitable break during the performances.
  11. All duly filled registration forms must be submitted ONLY to The Rock On Representatives in name of the mall.
  12. Registrations will be accepted only with submission of original forms. Copies of the registration form will not be considered for registration.
  13. Do not register for more than one category. An applicant can apply only for one category in the event. A registration form received with two options chosen will be rejected. Multiple registrations from a single participant will entail in rejection.
  14. Please thoroughly go through all relevant information and FAQs before filling in the registration form.
  15. Please ensure you have read through and accepted the Terms & Conditions and Event Rules & Guidelines in the registration form. Where any discrepancy is found in any of the above mentioned mandatory requirements, your registration will not be accepted.
  16. Registration Confirmation:
    The participant will receive the confirmation email to their registered email ID for online and on the ground, you will receive a registration acknowledgment form. If you are unable to receive the confirmation, please contact The Rock On representatives of the individual mall.
  17. All shortlisted participants/their authorized representatives are required to come to the venue in the respective cities where the event is scheduled to be held and fill out the registration form along with the event terms and conditions.
  18. Exchange of registration will not be accepted under any circumstances and once registered the registration is not transferable
  19. Participant/Authorized representative must carry with him/her (a) the email confirmation sent by Registration Team (b) photocopy of photo-identity proof (Aadhar card, PAN card or passport) of the representatives and the confirmed participant.
  20. The city police department reserves the right to cancel permission for the event at any time. In such a situation, or in case the event date or location is changed due to political rallies, natural disaster, force majeure or any other event outside the control of organizers, the organizers will hold the event at the next available and convenient date.
  21. Organizers reserve the right to stop any participant who is found medically unfit to continue in the opinion of the official medical personnel. Organizers are not responsible for any loss of baggage and belongings.
  22. Organizers decision regarding winners positions is final.
  23. Participants are requested to cooperate with the police and security personnel deputed at the event venues. Participants/supporters are liable to random checking on event day this is for your own security.
  24. Organizers have the right to stop the performance of any participant at any time during their performance at their discretion.
  25. Buzzer will be used to intimate the participants with respect to time and performance. Once the buzzer is sounded, it is mandatory for the participants to stop their performance.
  26. Rights of admission are reserved.
  27. Your entry can be rejected on any of the grounds listed below.

    1. Incomplete form submitted
    2. T&C not signed
    3. More than one registration received from the same applicant.
    4. Any other relevant reason deemed by the management.

I declare, confirm and agree as follows that I/my ward

  1. Have given true and complete information in this application form and me/my ward is/am solely responsible for the accuracy of this information.
  2. Have fully understood the risk and responsibility of participating in Forum Rock On or any event outlined in this application (collectively the event) and will be participating entirely at my/his/her risk and responsibility.
  3. For myself/ourselves and our legal representatives, waive all claims of whatsoever nature against any and all sponsors of the event, respective City, all political entities, authorities and officials, all contractors and construction firms working on or near the course, all The Rock On Committee persons, officials and volunteers, and all other persons and entities associated with the event and the directors, employees, agents and representatives of all or any of the aforementioned including, but not limited to, any claims that might result from me/my ward participating in the event and whether on account of illness, injury, death or otherwise.
  4. Agree that if I am/my ward is injured or taken ill or otherwise suffer/s any detriment whatsoever, I hereby irrevocably authorize the event officials and organizers to, at my/our risk and cost, transport me/my ward to a medical facility and/or to administer emergency medical treatment and l/my ward waive/s all claims that might result from such transport and/or treatment or delay or deficiency therein. I shall pay or reimburse to you my/my wards medical and emergency expenses and l/my ward hereby authorize/s you to incur the same.
  5. I agree that nothing herein shall oblige the event officials or organizers or any other person to incur any expense or to provide any transport or treatment.
  6. In case of any illness or injury caused to me or my ward or death suffered by me or my ward due to any medical reasons or medical condition during the event or at any time thereafter as a result of the event, regardless or not whether such medical reasons or condition shall have been pre-existing conditions known by me and further regardless of whether I/my ward shall have disclosed, at any point in time, the existence of such reason or condition to any person, none of the sponsors of the event or any political entity or authorities and officials or any contractor or construction firms working on or near the venue, or any of the The Rock On Committee persons, officials or volunteers or any persons or entities associated with the event or the directors, employees, agents or representatives of all or any of the aforementioned shall be held liable by me/my ward or my/my wards representatives.
  7. In case of any illness or injury caused to me or my ward or death suffered by me or my ward due to any force majeure event including but not limited to fire, riots or other civil disturbances, earthquakes, storms, typhoons or any terrorist act, none of the sponsors of the event or any political entity or authorities and officials or any contractor or construction firms working on or near the course, or any of the The Rock On officials or volunteers or any persons or entities associated with the event or the directors, employees, agents or representatives of all or any of the aforementioned shall be held liable by me/my ward or my/my wards representatives.
  8. Understand, agree and irrevocably permit respective Forum Mall to share the information given by me/my ward in this application, with all/any entities associated with the respective mall, at its own discretion.
  9. Understand, agree and irrevocably permit the respective Forum Mall to use my/my wards photograph which may be photographed on event Day and/or during the Expo, for the purpose of promoting The Rock On, at its own discretion
  10. Shall not hold the organizers and all/any of the event sponsors responsible for loss of my/his/her application form and/or application fee in transit
  11. I/my ward do agree to receive information and offers of various brands/products/services as may be sent to me/my ward by the event promoters (or a person duly authorized by the promoters) on the email address given by me/my ward in this application form.
  12. I/my ward understand and agree to the event terms and guidelines
  13. Organisers of the event shall in no event be responsible for any kind of loss or damage occurred to my belongings. I am solely responsible for the security of my / my wardens belongings.
  14. Management reserves the right to refuse admission to any persons whose conduct is disorderly or unbecoming.
  15. Management may add, withdraw or substitute artists and/or vary advertised programmes, event times, seating arrangements and audience capacity without prior notice.
  16. Management may use the participants image or likeness in any live or recorded video display, photograph or picture.
  17. Management may postpone, cancel, interrupt or stop the event due to adverse weather, dangerous situations, or any other causes beyond its reasonable control.
  18. The participants agree to submit to any search for any prohibited items including but not limited to weapons, controlled, dangerous and illegal substances and recording devices.
  19. The participant voluntarily assumes all risk and danger incidental to the event whether occurring prior to, during or subsequent to the actual event, including any death, personal injury, loss, damage or liability.
  20. Management reserves the right to disqualify and stop the bands performance during the show at its own discretion (if we find the content objectionable)
  21. Any complaints regarding the event will be directed to and dealt with by the Management at its discretion.
  22. Winners will be required to produce the following details and documents: valid name, e-mail address, phone number, PAN Card/ Aadhar Card at the time of receiving the prize for verification.
  23. All prizes are subject to Indian Tax laws and compliance with the prevailing laws and regulations. Any tax liability arising from the prize won shall be borne by the winner alone.
  24. By participating in the Contest, each Participant acknowledges and agrees to the all terms and conditions herein and all related terms and conditions governing this contest.
  25. For the above mentioned, the information is correct at the time of printing and subject to change without any form of prior notice.
  26. By signing this form, I consent to the terms and conditions hereof and undertake to indemnify the respective management of Forum Mall against any loss/ damage/ claim/ liability arising out of any act, omission, negligence, default, failure committed by me / my warden to adhere to the terms hereof.
  27. Exclusive jurisdiction of the Competent Courts at the city in which The Rock On event takes place shall be applicable for any dispute that may arise hereunder.
