Yoga is one of the richest heritages of India. It is both a philosophy as well as a practical science of healthy living. The scientific aspects of yoga are now being extensively investigated all over the world, and the efficacy of yoga therapy is well established, particularly in the treatment of various diseases like diabetes, various nervous and mental disorders.

Diabetes is primarily a lack of insulin from the pancreas in relation to the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood, it affects the whole endocrine system causing hormonal imbalance, blood vessel involvement, imbalance in the metabolism of fat, nerve damage and so on, psychological factors also play an important role in triggering diabetes.

Diabetes Mellitus is a big problem today for both doctor and patient. Modern medicine is doing a lot of research into cure for this disease, but as yet medical scientists have found no cure within their system. Research by doctors and scientists outside allopathy is showing that Yoga brings about a definite positive response in diabetics, alleviating their condition.

This course will offer and teach you therapeutic aspect of Yoga for the management of Diabetes:

1. With regular practice of Yoga, there will be improvement in fasting glucose and cholesterol levels.

2. Practices will help to balance stimulation of hormonal secretion of the pancreas.

3. Yoga practices will be taught to improve functioning of pancreas and intestines.

4. Yoga practices will be introduce to massage all internal organs including pancreas and improves kidney and liver function.

5. Specific practices which will massages the kidneys, pancreas, small intestines, gall bladder and liver.

6. Practices which will help to manage stress, which causes your blood pressure and blood sugar levels to rise.

7. Practices to manage the psychological factor which plays an important role in the management of Diabetes.

Who can attend this Course: This course will be very beneficiary and helpful for anyone who is at any stage of Diabetes (age no bar), but person should be in position to learn & do yoga practices.

You must be wondering why Yoga for runners ?

Well, here is the answer to that yoga offers a vast range of benefits that can be accessed as and when they are needed.

If you have been running pretty much all your life and still love running; whether it be as part of a sport or just for the pure joy of getting out of the house and exploring the surrounds or challenging yourself to run crazily long distances.

Yoga does include stretching, but we also need to contract supportive muscles to create balance. Many of the muscles that are not used in running can be strengthened by yoga.

Take, for example, the upper body. Research is starting to show that the optimal arm position is with the elbows bent 90 degrees, close to your ribs with your arms swinging back and forth along the sides of your body (this may sound obvious but not everyone runs like this!). It takes strong arm, shoulder and back muscles to swing the arms in this fashion and yoga postures such as downward dog, plank and dolphin strengthen the whole upper body.

Core strength is also improved with yoga. A strong, stable core doesnt come from doing thousands of sit-ups; it comes from positioning the body so that it develops balance and stability by challenging all of the torso muscles. Standing balances such as tree pose and eagle pose are great at this, as well as many balancing lunges where the arms are raised above the head, or are twisting to the side of the body.
