Keeping #children #happy and #busy not necessarily lead to #learning.

"The activities, though fun and engaging, do not lead anywhere intellectually. (They) lack an explicit focus on important ideas and appropriate evidence of learning."

Vidya Kodimoole is having a new batch of her successful Battery Bug workshop happening at Cilre starting next Sunday. Its a #fabulous way for children to start the #journey into the world of #electronics. While exploring the fundamental concepts in electronics, children will also work on hands on projects.
Battery Bug by Vidya
Explore the world of electronics with Battery Bug. Create cool, fun and useful projects using the components which you see inside your TV, computer and other gadgets. During the journey you will learn about each component and how they work together. You will learn how to create your own fan robot or a musical instrument and much more. Let us start by glowing an LED!

#Experiencing the #learning increases the engagement thereby enriching the process. Encouraging kids to use their hands brings out unsaid, and often correct ideas, which then makes them more open to instruction and more likely to learn
Why Kids Need to Move, Touch and Experience to Learn
Students can better understand math and physics problems by acting them out. This type of embodied learning can help open up the mind to abstract concepts.

How are we gonna take it apart? Oh you need a screwdriver!'"
