The word mindfulness is everywhere and it's generating a lot of buzzes. But what is mindfulness? And how can we practice it through our daily activities?
Mindfulness is a process where we learn to be present non-judgmentally in our self and to the different aspects of the self such as the mind or the body. It allows us to observe ourselves at the moment and pay close attention to what we need and want. When practised through everyday activities, it helps us disengage from our subconscious programming where our routine is automated and instead experience our moments more consciously thereby making our experiences all the richer. The process is also known to have a number of immediate benefits such as stress relief, lowered anxiety, and disconnecting from all the uncontrollable thoughts in the mind.
