What is Playback Theatre?
There are stories that each one of us carries, stories from our lives. Stories that are born out of the many myriad moments that we go through - happy, sad, shocking, reflective. These stories carry such power and meaning.
Playback Theatre is an improv, interactive format of theatre where the actors play out these real-life moments of the audience - with text, movement, images, sounds, and metaphors.
Through a safe and non-judgmental environment, Playback Theatre enables a forum of dialogue, shared emotions, self-reflection and deep connections.
Dr. Radhika Jain is a Playback Theatre practitioner for a decade, trainer and co-founder of First Drop Theatre. She is a leadership graduate from the Centre for Playback Theatre (USA). She is also trained in multiple other formats of interactive theatre-like Theatre of the Oppressed, Shadow Theatre and Immersive theatre. Radhika is also a practicing Expressive Arts therapist and combines the elements of Expressive Arts with the tools of Theatre in her sessions with individuals and groups.
