A unique Janmashtami themed walk in the city, wherein we visit temples and homes that usher in Krishna's birthday in style. Krishna’s mid night hour birth is celebrated by fasting, singing and decking up home and and idol of baby krishna . Just like the birth of a newborn, the idol of Krishna too is bathed, dressed and kept in a cradle. Sweetmeats and snacks-favourite of baby krishna is prepared at home and offered to the deity .

We begin our walk from one of iconic temples of namma Bengaluru- the ISKON temple that celebrates Krishna Janmashtami in full splendour. ISKON temple is one of the famous Radha-Krishna temples in the city. Not only is the temple decked with lights and flowers, but the whole campus is abuzz with activity. Take a walk here amidst the chants of devotees, the prayers and gongs at the temple. Be mesmerized with the beautifully decked up Krishna and partake in the delicious temple prasada.

After this we head towards a few Iyengar homes in Rajajinagar. The Janmashtami here is celebrated in a grand scale. Decorations and food form the main part of the celebrations. Not only are there beautiful mantaps with Krishna idols and paintings, there are colourful rangolis, fruits and  delightful savouries - Chakli,Thenkol, Kodulbale, unde, Obbattu etc. kept in front of the Lord. Be a part of this celebration, watch the aarati of the Krishna, and indulge in the snacks and sweets that get generously distributed after the festivities. In short you get to learn about the tradition of Janmashtami and be a part of the celebrations.

This walk will usually take about two hours. This event is suitable for everyone.
