A day-long workshop exploring the core ideas in Kabir's poetry through songs, poetry and conversations. The workshop will focus on key themes that appear in Kabir's poetry, such as love, mind, body, death, simplicity and awareness, in an atmosphere of exploration and exchange. Subsequently, participants will be invited to learn a folk song of Kabir, in order to experience the power of song in the body. No prior experience of singing or training in music is necessary.
The workshop will be facilitated by Vipul Rikhi. For several years now Vipul has been immersed in explorations of a wide range of mystic poetry. His work with Kabir Project includes writings and translations, including forthcoming books, as well as the co-creation of a vast digital archive of Bhakti, Sufi and Baul music called Ajab Shahar.
Contributions are invited. The suggested amount is kept low so that it doesn't become a barrier for anyone. But if you can pay more, please do so at the venue in order to cover for others who may not be able to.
Lunch and tea will be available for purchase at Atta Galatta at reasonable prices.
