Welcome to the hell hole of this struggling writer who is facing a writer's block and dealing with a deadline at the same time. Now he is left with no option but to look around and find characters by guessing about their lives and actions. Guesses with infinite possibilities but what if even by slight chance, one of these possibilities come true?

Experience an imaginative and comic flight of his thoughts from his window to hers.

To construct something we need resources and execution. Similarly the play KHIDKI was constructed from a thought of a writer Vikas Bahari and was transformed into fine performances by the actors Jatin Sarna and Priyanka Sharma presenting a beautiful story of imagination and reality.

The journey started from the first show at Bharatmuni festival which was organised by Sahitya Kala Parishad in Sri Ram centre Delhi where the show was appreciated by each and every art lover and since then there was no looking back.

The reason we call KHIDKI a journey is because its not only a play that makes you travel along with the protagonist imagination but it has travelled through different parts of our country which includes states like Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and cities like Mumbai and Bareilly. Gathering all the appreciation and knowledge to improve and present a great show every time. The play with every show has grown into a Wonderful piece of art.

17 shows in the past one year has given the team an opportunity to learn and present shows in every scenario may it be the Ujjain Maha kumbh or Chandigarh college fest ,it has something for every type of audience from a youth to an elderly person believing in destiny or not.

This play is adapted from a famous Italian play 'Filumena Marturano' or 'A Mothers a Mother' by Eduardo Filippo. The play opens with a former prostitute whose 25 years of non sanctified companionship to a wealthy Don has been repaid with betrayal as he mingles up with a younger woman. As the play opens, she is exulting over triumphant bit of deception. Believing her to be on her deathbed, the Don had taken pity on her and married her, only to watch her make a sudden stunning recovery. Pressing her advantage, she reveals that it is not just for her sake that she wanted Don's name, but for that of her three grown up sons. She had secretly paid for their upbringing with spoils stolen from the fringes of the Don's carefree lifestyle and now wants to offer them a mother's love and the Don's good name. Further she also reveals that one of them is Don's son. The Don tries to get rid of her and her overreaching wishes; realizing in the process that he actually loves her; and finally marries her while also accepting her three sons.

Last but not the least, the play is presented by Prism Theatre, the theater company credited with giving several new and entertaining productions to Hindi, Urdu & English Theatre like Khidki, Hemlet, Chidiya aur Chand, Happy End, Gangster Samiti, A Mother is a Mother, Chaabdey, Couple Trouble, Mazaaq and So Called Gentlemen.

We prism theatre society is back in INDORE to do MAZZAQ ,A Theatre Production by VIKAS BAHARI .. today at 6pm ...see you inside the auditorium
Prism Theatre Sat, 15 Jul
MAZAAQ is a dramatisation of three short stories by the famous Russian playwright, Anton Chekhov. The first story, Drowning Man, deals with a guy, regularly performing a drowning act to earn a few Roubles. But one day, the whole thing goes haywire and ends rather ironically.

The second one called Bank Manager is about a woman who barges into a bank, forcing the manager to fulfil her grossly unreasonable demands. The play is replete with some deliciously comic exchanges between the two and ends with the manager virtually losing his mind.

The production ends with Surgery, a brilliant piece of comedy where a priest wants his painful tooth extracted. Unfortunately for him the dentist is away and it's his inexperienced but highly confident assistant, who somehow convinces the priest that he can do a great job of it. The play is full of racy comic quips and the physical interaction between the two actors is truly humorous.

So, ladies and gentlemen, what awaits you is an evening full of fun and maddening laughter!

Kahani Mahesh ki.....

Performed by Shankar Musafir and Nadeem Shah

Duration: 35 mins approx.

Mahesh is a popular story by prominent Bengali novelist and short story writer of the early 20th century, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. It is a political satire in dry humour which but leaves a strong impression about the marginalized and the oppressed. Should a Muslim Julaha sell his dear ox Mahesh because impending death due to poverty looms large?

This story has been adapted into Hindustani and a dastanic format by Nadeem Shah

GHALIB and LAL QUILE KA AAKHRI MUSHERA (Urdu):

*ing-Tom Alter. Scirpt and Direction by Sayeed Alam.

Ghalib is a lively, entertaining and vivacious account of an intriguing man named Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib -- a master yet a rundown poet, a privileged yet a pitiable elite, an extravagant yet a poor noble, a devout yet a self effacing lover, an irreverent yet a pious husband and a self-seeking yet an altruistic person.

The play has 70 year old Ghalib (played by Tom Alter) narrating the memoirs of his life to his first biographer Maulana Hali.

Ghalib in his inimitable style, laced with humor and satire, takes Hali and audiences to an array of events, depicting Ghalib- the talented child; Ghalib - the carefree young man; Ghalib - the mature middle aged: His wife (Umrao Begum), a God fearing lady wedded to man who defied God: His family that got reduced to two from seven in a very short span of time: His deranged brother, shot dead as a rebel by Britons in 1857: His devout servants, twenty one in total: His lady love (Mughol Jan), who committed suicide: His futile attempts to secure a dignified position in Mughol Darbar, and also the professorship in Delhi College: His contemporaries virtually a long list

The play features some of the prominent actors of the country; including Niti Phool, M Sayeed Alam, Manish Singh, Himanshu Srivastava and of course inimitable Tom Alter as his look alike i.e. Mirza Ghalib.

and

Lal Qile Ka Aakhri Mushaira (Urdu) is a beautiful re-creation of the last poetic congregation at the LAL QILA during the reign of the last Mughol Emperor and eminent poet, Bahadur Shah Zafar, portrayed by none other than Tom Alter, a master of Urdu, Acting & History telling.

The importance of this historic play lies in the fact that it literally assembles on one stage the greatest of Urdu Poets. It, therefore, re lives the Golden Period of Urdu Poetry represented by Zauq, Ghalib, Momin, Zafar, Dagh, Azurdah, Sheftah, and many more.

In the process, this highly aesthetic costume and period drama brings forth the poetry of the finest quality and class: For instance, Ghalibs, Ibn-e Maryam hua kare koi, Zauqs, Laayi hayaat aaye, qaza le chali chale, Momins, Asar us ko zara nahin hota , Zafars, Ya mujhe afsar-e shahana banaya hota.

No less does the play the bring the audience face to face with the legends their elegant recitation styles and mannerisms, their inter-person relationships, their exclusive get ups and, most important of all, their excellent sense of humor as reflected in repartees they frequently exchange with one another during the course of the Mushaera.
