Dastan Umru Ayyar aur Mahtab Jadu ki ( A tale from Tilism i-Hoshruba)
Tilism i-Hoshruba literally meaning 'the enchantment that takes away the senses' is a magical realm created by the Emperor of sorcerers Afrasiyab Jadu who represents evil and fights with the leader of tricksters (Ayyars), Umru Ayyar, who stands for truth. In a usual plot Afrasiyab sends his lieutenant Mahtab Jadu to capture Umru and his fellow Ayyars. Mahtab magically erects a palace in the jungle to trap Umru. Knowing that Ayyars can disguise into any form or human body, he creates magical birds who can recognize Ayyars in disguise too. Umru with his fellow Ayyars tries to break this magical trap. Does he succeedl? wail till the story unfolds itself to its climax.
'Kabootar ke khat' is a collection of letters sent to legendary Urdu writer 'Krishan Chander' by one of his admirers. The letters are full of humour and satire. The admirer 'Ghaseeta Ram Parwana' is in awe with his favourite writer and writes his first letter to him with a lot of affection and admiration. He writes again, with disappointment as he does not get any response. He keeps on writing till his tone and tenor changes to complete despair and wrath'
The second one called Bank Manager is about a woman who barges into a bank, forcing the manager to fulfil her grossly unreasonable demands. The play is replete with some deliciously comic exchanges between the two and ends with the manager virtually losing his mind.
The production ends with Surgery, a brilliant piece of comedy where a priest wants his painful tooth extracted. Unfortunately for him the dentist is away and it's his inexperienced but highly confident assistant, who somehow convinces the priest that he can do a great job of it. The play is full of racy comic quips and the physical interaction between the two actors is truly humorous.
So, ladies and gentlemen, what awaits you is an evening full of fun and maddening laughter!

Mahesh is a popular story by prominent Bengali novelist and short story writer of the early 20th century, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. It is a political satire in dry humour which but leaves a strong impression about the marginalized and the oppressed. Should a Muslim Julaha sell his dear ox Mahesh because impending death due to poverty looms large?
This story has been adapted into Hindustani and a dastanic format by Nadeem Shah
Performed by Ashhar Haque and Nadeem Shah

Ghalib is a lively, entertaining and vivacious account of an intriguing man named Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib -- a master yet a rundown poet, a privileged yet a pitiable elite, an extravagant yet a poor noble, a devout yet a self effacing lover, an irreverent yet a pious husband and a self-seeking yet an altruistic person.
The play has 70 year old Ghalib (played by Tom Alter) narrating the memoirs of his life to his first biographer Maulana Hali.
Ghalib in his inimitable style, laced with humor and satire, takes Hali and audiences to an array of events, depicting Ghalib- the talented child; Ghalib - the carefree young man; Ghalib - the mature middle aged: His wife (Umrao Begum), a God fearing lady wedded to man who defied God: His family that got reduced to two from seven in a very short span of time: His deranged brother, shot dead as a rebel by Britons in 1857: His devout servants, twenty one in total: His lady love (Mughol Jan), who committed suicide: His futile attempts to secure a dignified position in Mughol Darbar, and also the professorship in Delhi College: His contemporaries virtually a long list
The play features some of the prominent actors of the country; including Niti Phool, M Sayeed Alam, Manish Singh, Himanshu Srivastava and of course inimitable Tom Alter as his look alike i.e. Mirza Ghalib.
Lal Qile Ka Aakhri Mushaira (Urdu) is a beautiful re-creation of the last poetic congregation at the LAL QILA during the reign of the last Mughol Emperor and eminent poet, Bahadur Shah Zafar, portrayed by none other than Tom Alter, a master of Urdu, Acting & History telling.
The importance of this historic play lies in the fact that it literally assembles on one stage the greatest of Urdu Poets. It, therefore, re lives the Golden Period of Urdu Poetry represented by Zauq, Ghalib, Momin, Zafar, Dagh, Azurdah, Sheftah, and many more.
In the process, this highly aesthetic costume and period drama brings forth the poetry of the finest quality and class: For instance, Ghalibs, Ibn-e Maryam hua kare koi, Zauqs, Laayi hayaat aaye, qaza le chali chale, Momins, Asar us ko zara nahin hota , Zafars, Ya mujhe afsar-e shahana banaya hota.
No less does the play the bring the audience face to face with the legends their elegant recitation styles and mannerisms, their inter-person relationships, their exclusive get ups and, most important of all, their excellent sense of humor as reflected in repartees they frequently exchange with one another during the course of the Mushaera.
