Kunti Betta night trek is a standout amongst the most famous and thrilling trekking encounters one can swear by near Bangalore. A night trek gives you zest and tingles your adventurous bone; the night tends to sharpen the body sensations and ignites a feeling of uncertainty and curiosity about your trail.

Two rocky hills standing tall in the town of Pandavapura, surrounded by some amazing picture perfect scenery, overlooking the beautiful Pandavapura Lake is Kunti Betta. Hindu Mythology gives an insight about the short stay of Pandavas in this region and their mother Kunti, who developed a fondness towards the hillocks. Hence, the town and the hill were named after them.

A rundown of pickup stops empowers you to select a closest one to board. Pickups will start covering from the starting point at around 9:30PM from Bangalore and head for Kunti Betta base, after a short stay at the Ramanagara base. This nearly 4 km (up and down) night trek is fun-filled and exotic. Reach the crest of the hill pompously and enjoy the serene beauty by the campfire and soak in the sunshine at the crack of dawn. After this, munch on some delicious breakfast at a local restaurant and then the ride to Bangalore city begins.

This night trek near Bangalore is an easy and pocket-friendly weekend getaway plan. It's more or less an easy start for building your expertise in this type of adventure. However, it is not meant for the faint hearted; avoid if you have any health issues that can't be handled.

We went for a day trek through Escape2explore. Starting from Bangalore at around 6:30am, we reached Ramanagara base at 8:30am. We were 6 people and were the only ones for the day trek that day. They offered breakfast where people from the previous night's trek were also present. Breakfast included Idli Sambhar, pakoras and bread omelette with tea. It was normal. After the breakfast, we started with rappelling. We had a couple of guys from their side to help us do it and it was definitely worth an experience. We had great fun and had an amazing start to the outing.

After rappelling, we started with the trek. One guy from their side took us through the way. The cool weather with a slight drizzle made the trekking experience wonderful. Clicking pictures in the meanwhile, we took around an hour to reach the top. It started raining at the top adding cherry to the cake. After spending some time, we started descending. It became a bit slippery due to the rain but it was not difficult to keep your feet firmly and get down.

After the trek, we got back to the base at around 2pm to have lunch. They asked our choice and we opted for vegetarian food. We were famishing till that time and the food was good. It was home-made food having Aloo sabzi, dry cabbage vegetable, paratha, rice, pulao and curd rice. They offered some fruits as well. Post lunch, we went for shooting for some time.

Some of us were interested to go for Go Karting and ATV. There was a Play zone nearby and their guy himself took us there. It was not included in the package though and we paid separately there. It was equally good to add to our fun. We then proceeded to the last thing - Kayaking. The guy properly instructed us about how to do it. The water was very dirty though due to rains. Nevertheless, we went for it and it was fun to kayak through.

In the evening, we had tea and returned back to Bangalore around 7:30pm. We would have reached earlier had we not gone for Go Karting. But it was worth our time.

Overall, it was a day well spent and it felt like doing so many things in one day. They handled everything professionally and we had a great day out. :)
