Conceived by Murali Mohan Gowda, the Festival of Ancient Music takes you on an exploration of Dhrupad - one of the most ancient forms of classical music from the subcontinent, and the depth of its sound with four promising exponents, covering vocal and instrumental forms.

A revival of the almost lost storytelling form of Kaavad Katha, this re-imagination is a rare experience which brings together visual art, folk stories, poetry, philosophy and theatre together in one Baithak session.

Written and performed mostly in devnagari verse,  the narrative delves into philosophical concepts and human emotions like duality, passion, love, bravery, moral dilemmas, companionship and more; experienced through mythical characters and storylines set in different times and spaces. This performance is the fruit of dedicated research and extensive collaboration between theatre makers, visual artists, musicians and designers who have come together to create the world of Kaavad Katha.
