Who says whats-in-a-name? My life and my journey has been a story of hope and thats what my name signifies in Hindi.

I was born in Mauritius to a sixth generation immigrant family but larger part of my early life has been spent in England. I was always a dreamer with a social conscience and have enjoyed creative work since childhood. My first working stint in media and advertising industry didnt last long as it came nowhere close to my vision of contributing back to the society. In that social quest, I landed up in Holland to work for a charity organization. My stay in Holland was very satisfying to me as I learnt some creative art techniques like oil painting and sculpture. I had also enrolled myself into very demanding martial art lessons directly from a monk.

It was when I moved back to England from Holland and befriended many Indians, I was startled by the warmth and friendliness of the Indian culture and society. The new found love for India made me move to Gujarat where I worked for Mother Teresas organization of Missionaries of Charity. After Gujarat, the beautiful city of Bangalore happened to me and thats where I have spent few of my best years growing professionally and personally; thanks to some of the finest people I worked along during this stint.

Post my first Bangalore spell, I have been tried different things in different cities with that hope to find my true calling. In London I worked as a soul mid-wife then I went on to setup my own cup-cake business and then I moved to Mauritius where I worked as a healer and then finally heeding to a dream I moved back to Bangalore as a culture consultant.

Now I am working on my own startup where we would offer innovative and empowering etiquette courses to both youths and adults. Currently I am excited setting up everything along with my team.

I believe the purpose of life is to evolve, to learn, to enjoy both the happiness and the suffering part of it. Anyone who is successful had to suffer and without suffering there would be no feeling of the joy which success brings. My advice to the younger generation would be to not expect things handed to you in platter. There is no shortcut, there is no instant gratification. Work hard towards it and then you realize so much joy.

I have been working as researcher for quite a few years in the field of computational neuroscience trying to understand how the brain processes external and internally generated signals. To gain insight into the problem I developed and analysed mathematical models of brain circuitry. I quit academic research recently, and now I am currently doing research for an e-commerce company in London.

I was born and raised in Barcelona and I have lived in New York, Paris, and now, London. Two activities which stimulate me as a person are reading and running. I read literally everything, almost all genres and still it feels less. The last good book I read and that I can recommend you would be the autobiography of Oliver Sacks, entitled "On the Move: A Life". Talking about running; it is the easiest way to clear my head from the noise around and it makes me more connected to this physical world.

I am a reserved kind of person, even by European standards. I find people here in India are quite open. In Europe everything is settled and organized, where as here I find more chaos, more vibrancy, more lively and that too the magnitude of everything is huge. It is certainly very exciting, with everything intermingled here.

I am not an over-ambitious guy but I wish to contribute in my own way. I would like to see the whole mankind walk the right path, in terms of reducing inequality, respecting the environment, or granting universal education. We are a lucky generation because there is so much we can do. I wish we could use then knowledge and experience gained along the years to make things better for everyone.

(Daniel Marti, currently based out of London, works as an Applied Scientist at a leading e-commerce company. Bangalore is the first city he is visiting in the continent of Asia. He read about Dialogues while researching about the best cafes one can pleasantly work from.)

I have been in Bangalore for 3 years now and it has been good to me so far. Whenever I go back to my village, I get respect for working in a city and earning money. I also ensure that send money back home every month to my family.

I am a very peace loving person and I can't withstand any display of violence at all except for in movies. Salman is my favorite actor and I am quite cognisant of the fact that his violence is only restricted to the movies. All the violence is just for entertainment and Salman bhai does it just to earn money.

Given a lot of money, I would open my own business back in my hometown in Assam. There is a lot of unemployed youth there and my business will help them.

I have worked in Tamil Nadu before but Bangalore is my favourite. The weather here is better and people are also nice.

I like to listen to music and mostly Honey Singh and dancing Punjabi numbers are my favourite. I don't understand the language but it surely makes me dance.

I miss my hometown: its natural beauty and close relationships with friends and family. Trust me, there is nothing like bathing in the open river with friends.

I have an elder brother and I am waiting for his marriage to happen. I can't get married before him else the society wont like it and say bad words to my family.
