"Being an artist means not having to avert one's eyes." - Akira Kurosawa

We invite you to the February episode of Dialogues with Cinema. And this month we are discussing Japanese Films.

The idea of Dialogues with Cinema is to bring together a group of people with a taste of quality cinema. In this event the participants would discuss, share and exchange information about good movies from the selected genre. As a participant, you do not have to be a scholar in the movies, you just want to share, enjoy or build your knowledge about good movies.

It will be a 3 hour informal and engaging event where we divide time amongst participants who wish to share their favourite movie from the selected genre with the group.

Genre for February episode: Japanese Films

Charges: INR 150 for regular customer, INR 100 for students . It includes one drink complimentary at Dialogues Cafe.

About the host Shivankar Jay:

Shivankar Jay formerly worked as an entertainment writer, currently works as a copywriter and is a cinema buff. He spent his summer vacations in a little island in Kerala called Vypin where, as he puts it, "he grew up at regular intervals."

Shivankar now lives in a basement, spending his waking hours watching films and talking about them. To his imaginary friends.

When I was 18 years old, I left home for Kerala in search of a job. After working in Kerala for a few years I got bored there and went back home. Later opportunity struck up in Bangalore where ultimately and luckily Dialogues happened to me. In my work, I enjoy talking to customers and ensuring that they have a very happy experience. Their smiles are the best dialogues I seek from my job.

I enjoy lot of things: watching TV, dancing, singing, playing football. I am also a die-hard fan of Salman Khan, his personality is impressive.

If I am given a lot of money, I will build a house back in my hometown in Assam, start my own business and also visit the city of London as it is my dream destination.

Dialogues and Breakout Comedy present "Comedy Crunches" an evening of unprecedented comedy. In this edition of stand up comedy, we present to you Three of the finest stand-up comedians in the country: Kritarth Srinivasan, Prasad Bhat and Rajesh Hinduja..

Rajesh Hinduja is the oldest comedian in the country and discovered his talent for comedy rather late in life. Apparently the talent was hidden so deep down it took a while to emerge !! Two things that confuse him till today are technology and women and when he has to deal with a combination of both the result can be seriously funny .

Kritarth Srinivasan

An avid traveler and one among only five comics in Bangalore to have put out his one hour special. Kritarth is a master at cleverly disguising the complexity of any topic and making it sound hilarious, he takes pride in being an engineering drop-out who later went onto become an arts graduate. A confused soul, Brahmin, and a defense brat, Kritarth's comedy is a combination of all these factors which he brings to life in a rib-tickling fashion on stage

Prasad Bhat is a vector-artist, rockstar, and a comedian. He is famously known as the man behind Graphicurry with his viral artwork and phenomenal following.

Understanding and Worshiping Sri Chakra

Either you are on spiritual path or religious path this workshop will brighten-up your journey.

The Sri Chakra is an iconic representation of the deepest intuitions of the Vedas. It represents both the recursive structure of reality and also expresses the fact that Nature and Consciousness are interpenetrating

The Sri Chakra, or Sri Yantra, is a specific pattern of triangles, circles and petals it is the King of All Yantras. Sri Chakra worship is considered the highest worship of Devi, and because it contains all deities and all divine potencies within it, it brings every kind of blessing for physical and emotional health, wealth, harmony in ones relationships, and true spiritual progress.

In truth, the worship of the Sri Chakra is both an art and a science designed by divinely inspired sages; its regular performance clears all obstacles, bestows all blessings, and carries us inexorably towards the highest goal of oneness with the supreme Goddess Sri Lalita Tripur Sundari.

Each avarana contains a certain number of triangles, petals or lines that correspond to specific aspects of Divine Mothers powers of love, wisdom and pure consciousness. As we proceed through each avarana, we come closer to the central bindu, the source of bliss and divine consciousness.
