    "Life is hard. And exciting.

It is relentless in its challenges. And boundless in its opportunities.

Each day presents us with a myriad of choices that we must take to navigate the course of our lives. It is but natural that sometimes in this long journey our optimism fades and is replaced by a jaded sense of our reality. However, it is critical to remember during these moments that our humanity is rooted in our indomitable spirit and though we may fall, we will always rise again." - Vironika Tugaleva

    About TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBangalore where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBangalore event, TED Talks, videos and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Aanchal Malhotra is a Delhi-based artist and oral historian working with memory and material culture. Her main area of research has been to archive the objects and belongings that refugees brought across the border with them during the Partition of India in 1947, in order to create an alternative lens to understand displacement and migration. She is the co-founder of the Museum of Material Memory and author of ‘Remnants of a Separation: A History of the Partition of India through Material Memory’ (HarperCollins, 2017)

    2. Prayaag Akbar

A former deputy editor of Scroll, his award-winning reporting and commentary have tackled various aspects of marginalization in India. He lives in Mumbai with his wife and their cat.

    3. Nishant Srinivasaiah

With an early interest to understand how large mammals such as the elephants manage to adapt and survive in a rapidly transforming human-dominated landscape like ours, Nishant has been observing elephant populations and individuals, both in the wild and in captivity, for about 10 years now. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies on the behavioral decision-making in Asian elephants in a changing ecological and anthropogenic environment around Bengaluru, from the Animal Behaviour and Cognition Programme at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru.

    4. Barnaby Dixon

Barnaby Dixon is a professional puppeteer and filmmaker. Starting his career as a stop-motion animator, he quickly found that online content required a faster turnaround than animation could deliver, so developed his own dynamic hand puppets to speed up the process. Dixon’s unique designs feature in music videos, narrative pieces, and demonstrations. His audience has grown quickly thanks to strong weekly content and viral success.
Dixon also won RTL’s “Die Puppenstars 2017”, an international puppetry competition televised in Germany.
