Kasol is a town in Himachal Pradesh situated at a height of 1640 meters, on the banks of the Parvati River. The mighty mountains of the coniferous trees and the crystal clear streams meandering through them offer a picturesque scene. This natural haven has some interesting tourist destinations that one must surely visit.
In Kasol, River Parvati is one of the major attractions. Beautiful landscapes of the valley and charming river side make the visit to River Parvati the most relaxing and rejuvenating experience.
You can go on a hike to Manikaran Sahib which is just about 6 kms from Kasol. Manikaran Sahib is a huge Gurudwara situated between the daunting hills and a fierce Beas. There is a hot spring located within the premise of the Gurudwara and it is believed that the spring water has healing properties. It is a fact that the rice for the delicious langar is cooked in the hot water from the spring.
One can also trek to Malana is an isolated small hamlet in Himachal. This tranquil location is spell-binding and it is worth a visit. The village is also often referred to as the ‘little Greece of India.’
One of the easiest and the most joyous trek in Kasol is to Kheer Ganga. It is about nine kilometres long and passes through easy trails that lead to uphill. On reaching the top, one can relax and rejuvenate in the hot water spring that originates at the top of the hill. You can also plan to stay on top of the hill for a night as the nearby hamlets offer several accommodation options.
