Experience Retro Like Never Before at Café Lota
Image Credit: National Crafts MuseumDid you ever think that you would be counting down the hours in anticipation of going to a museum? If your answer is no, then you are not the only one. While museums are interesting and educational, it is not a place we intend to go to on a day out. But for the people of Delhi, this is a different story. The Museum of Craft History has been a hub for not only academics, but people looking to have a good time as well. All of this is thanks to Café Lota, which is situated inside the museum compound. In terms of both the menu and the ambience, Café Lota has a rustic feeling. For music, the All India Ratio Station keeps belting out one retro hit after another. This is an experience that not many of us have had, that of visiting a museum because we wanted to get something good to eat. But, there is always a first time for everything.

Bombay Egg Bhurji, Quinoa Upma, Mushroom Uttapam and Ragi Vada Pav are some items that let you know how innovative and experimental this café is. Next we come to the appetisers, or smaller plates as they are called here. A few dishes to keep in mind here would be Sandeep’s Prawn Fry, Mustard Fish Tikka, Beetroot Chops and Palak Patta Chaat. We have now arrived at the main course. Here we have some more traditional dishes that have been given some unique twists like Kerala Vegetable Stew, Kathal Biryani, Kokum & Pumpkin Fish and Chicken Mokul.

Café Lota is one of those experiences that you probably will not be able to duplicate in any other place. Also, thanks to Café Lota, many more people are taking an active interest in the craft history of our country. As if people needed any more reasons to like this unique café.
