Ramanagara Trek

As one of the perfect one day trekking spots, Ramanagar is not very far from Bangalore. The trek offers some of the best trekking and unwinding experiences. The trek is also an easy level trek. Trekkers can do both day and night treks.

The granite hills and the mildly steep slopes, make the trek slightly taxing. This also makes it moderately dangerous during the rainy season. This rocky terrain and large boulders makes it ideal for other adventure sports such as high rope traversing, jumaring, rock climbing and rappelling. With history of hide out services for Gabbar, these rocks seem ideal for extreme crusader sports.

Ramanagara is also the the perfect camping spot. The trek length is about 6 km and is best experienced in the months from November to February.

Nandi Hills Trek

Nandi Hills is one of the popular escapades for the people of Bangalore. With a stunning sunrise view-point, this place is an amazing spot for a one day trek. The trek is quite an easy one with great views at every stop.Take a bike or a car to reach the Hill, To go through to the top you need to go via the Nandi Fort. 

Trekkers have two choices - Either use trail route 1, which goes via the south side of the hills or use trial route 2, which used the north side of the hill. There are numerous hotels for you to stay atop the hill over night. Though many suggest this to be a one day tour from 6 AM to 9 PM. 

The hill though known for its sunrise and sunset view, it has other sources of attraction as well. The cold chilly winds and the misty atmosphere only make seeing the clouds below you even more desirable. Be sure to carry warm clothes! Along with this you can visit the fort, the origin of rivers Palar and Arkavati as well as Kalyani Pond.

Skandagiri Trek

Skandagiri is one of the oldest hill fortresses, at an altitude of 4430 ft. The 3 Kilometer trek is perfect for birdwatching and also for a night trek. It provides a sight for sore eyes with the panoramic view of the starlight night sky.

Skandagiri is also called as Kalavara Durga. During the trek, the trekkers get to explore 2 caves. Sunrise from on top of the hill is one of the most anticipated and marvellous views, whereas the trek is a moderate level difficulty trek. The terrain on this hill is very rugged with dense grass making it slightly harder for trekkers to accomplish this journey. It takes approximately 4 to 5 hours for the entire trip. Two hours to go up and down, and one to enjoy the view and bonfire on top. Best to have breakfast at Chikkaballapur before continuing back to Bangalore.

This location has great historical value, it is the birthplace to an ancient Hindu math known as Papagni math as well as the home to many idols of goddesses such as Goddess Parvathy.

Makalidurga Trek

Being a moderately difficult trek, Makalidurga offers some views that are worth the difficulty of the trek. Anthargange Trek

Anthargange is one of the popular tourist spots for the temple and the spring that originates from the hill. The name Anthargange translates to ‘Inner Spring’ and the spring on the hill flows through the temple right in the middle of the hill. Kabbala Durga is also a part of the Kanakapura ranges. The peak hits up to a 2090 ft and is one of the best spots for trekking and sightseeing. Devarayana Durga Hills Trek

As one of the popular hill station destinations about 9 miles from Tumkur in Karnataka, Devarayana Durga is a great one day trek option for trekkers. The hill station also hosts one of the famous natural water springs, Namada Chilume along with other springs. The trek also shows some of the best terrains and a lovely spot for birdwatchers. Madugiri Trek

Madhugiri is the second largest monolith in Asia with an altitude that scales up to 3,930 ft. Kudremukh Trek

A trek along Kudremukh is one of the best things an avid trekker would be looking forward to. The trek trails through the stunningly beautiful Kudremukh National Park. This is among the wet, evergreen forests and is also the second largest wildlife protected area. Trekking along this trail is permitted between 6:00 am and 5: 00 pm. While spotting wildlife is one of the best things along this trail, the National Park is home to endangered species like wild dogs, tiger and leopard. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. The best time to visit this National park is May and October. There also more than a few waterfalls as well as two known rivers within the region. 

The breathtaking view from atop the clouds is pristine. The hills are filled with streams and bamboo shrubs. There are a number of trek routes up the hill which vary with difficulty. The base camp is Mullodi and the nearest village with accommodation is Kalasa, where there is a Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Narasimha Parvatha Trek

The 13 Kilometer trek takes one to the Narasimha Parvatha peak, which stands mighty at the Agumbe. The trek shows some of the dense forests of Agumbe and it is important for the trekkers to stick to a group trek for this one. The trek in itself holds quite a challenging trail and a trek terrain that might be tough for a beginner, hence this is mostly done by avid trekkers who have an experience with trekking. 

One can witness the panoramic view and stunning sky line from the peak at about 3780 ft. The parallel mountain range of Kudhremukh can be viewed from here. The summit of Mallandoor village, is well decorated with Paddy fields and are replicated at the peak however the trek region if filled with dense forests. 

Sitauted amidst the Kudhremukh national park, permission is required to trek up this majestic peak. The surrounding region has many other tourist attractions such as the Barkana Waterfalls.
