OSAM EZZELDIN (CA, U.S.A - Keyboards)

His versatility has made him an especially valuable addition to a new generation of jazz virtuosos. Osam has shared the stage and the studio with some of the leading jazz musicians in the USA and the world, including Billy Cobham, Giovanni Hidalgo, Stanley Jordan, Zakir Hussain, Larry Coryell, Dave Weckl, Kai Eckhardt, Orhan Osman's Turkophony All Stars, Simon Phillips, Sean Rickman, Zigaboo Modeliste (The Meters) George Porter Jr, Bernard Wright and Chuck Rainey, to name a few.

Quote:

"I am very impressed with Osam's composing and I enjoy his improvisation also! Very good work indeed.

Respect and affection, John McLaughlin."

Osam's prodigious abilities at the Piano, writing for Jazz Ensembles, Chamber Orchestra, Movie Scores, Jazz Fusion, R&B, Afro-Cuban, and arranging, also brought him to the attention of the professional Jazz scene in the USA and Worldwide.

MOHINI DEY (bass)

This 20-year-old bass guitar whiz kid performs with the confidence and maturity of a seasoned musician. Mohini Dey has played with some of the world's most revered musicians and music composers like singer Hariharan, Ranjit Barot and A.R Rahman at different events. And then theres work in Rahmans newly formed a capella band NAFS, and in a couple of other new bands that include Taufiq Qureshi, Naveen Kumar, Stephen Devassy, Sivamani, Aditya Kalyanpur and Suchismita. So impressed was Ranjit Barot with Deys ability with a Fender, that he featured her in his album Bada Boom, and made her a part of his band on MTV Unplugged. He even introduced her to Ustad Zakir Husain, with whom she performed at Mumbai's Prithvi theatre.

Mohini has played in two seasons of Coke Studio. There is also her own album.

Her music has influences from guitarists like Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Abraham Laboriel, Mark King, Tom Kennedy and Marcus Miller. She also draws from percussion instruments such as the drums and the tabla. I love listening to [percussion instruments] and then I play the same phrases on bass, she says.

To quote Uday Benegal, singer-songwriter and founder of Indus Creed - Mohini is remarkable for her virtuosity and has gone beyond the novelty of a child prodigy to a promising stretch of great musical longevity.

Kom Zot (Reunion Island) - Reggae
bFLAT in association with Exodus Events (Chennai) presents Kom Zot, a Reggae** band from the French Runion Islands. Kom Zot chose reggae, as they wanted their music to be a reflection of their values and the place they belong to.

**Reggae is a style of Jamaican popular music blending blues, calypso, and rock-'n'-roll, characterized by a strong syncopated rhythm and lyrics of social protest.

At first Kom Zot was a Maloya (traditional music) band. They released their first Reggae single, called Koman Na F in 1991.The single hit the charts and went straight to # 1, turning Kom Zot into one of the biggest, most popular reggae groups of the Reunion Islands. Since their first album Rebel Kabar in 1994, Kom Zot hasn't stopped raising the 'Reggae-Made-In-Runion' flag and is now 3 albums old.

Kom Zot has performed with and shared the stage with artistes such as: I Jah Man, Lucky Dube, Steel Pulse, Culture, Israel Vibration, Lee Perry at the SAKIFO FESTIVAL (twice). Adding to these amazing experiences, Kom Zot is really proud and feel blessed to be chosen among many, to be the opening act of Griffiths during "The Gladiators tour" in 2004.

Groove to the beats of Kom Zot !!!
