In todays busy life, we often find ourselves fraught with the challenge and opportunity to choose, evaluate and prioritise at every step. We face circumstances in life which demands our quick response. How do we bring a balance in our life and make better choices?

On the evening of February 03rd 2018, New Acropolis, Bangalore hosted this interesting public talk and guided discussion. The lecture revolved around understanding how to bring balance in our life and make better choices. It also looked at how to bring an inner harmony to balance the many contradictions which life throws at us.

Is death the end of life or is it the beginning of a more meaningful one? A vast majority of the ancient traditions practised across many ancient civilizations in time and history reveals the continuing journey of the spirit after the physical death.

On the evening of January 20th 2018, New Acropolis, Bangalore was the host for this interesting public talk and guided discussion. The lecture revolved around understanding the real meaning of death. Bardo Thodal the Tibetan Book of the Dead is a fundamental text traditionally read out loud at the bedside of the deceased for 49 days. Participants in this event had the opportunity to understand more closely what this text reveals about death for a better life. It also gave them an opportunity to introspect how to bring more meaning to their individual lives today.

To mark this occasion, member volunteers and students got together with family and friends for a morning picnic at the beautiful Cubbon Park. Nelson Mandela once said, Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

On the evening of Dec 9th 2017, New Acropolis, Bangalore was the host for this interesting public talk and guided discussion. The lecture revolved around understanding the idea of Why should we fear becoming powerful beyond measure? It also illuminated aspiring Philosophers learn more about the existence of ancient ways to see better beyond the illusion of the matrix, to look at what was, and possibly still is for some of us, worth fighting for.

It revolved around understanding what is misery and what causes it. It emphasized on the practical approach in dealing with it. With countless things to do and responsibilities that life demands from us, the only one thing that is really needed is to live our lives deeply and mindfully.

Member Volunteers of New Acropolis packed their bags and drove out into the wild for a weekend of connecting with nature, bonding with each other, camping under the stars and singing around the bonfire. The Adventure at Camp Linger in Nachikuppam village (Tamil Nadu) also included a Survival-in-the-wild workshop and a morning trek up the nearby hill. In all, a special opportunity to spend time together, reconnecting to inspiration in the lap of nature!

At New Acropolis (IONA), philosophy comes alive as we foster an active and practical approach to living philosophy towards collective growth of humanity.

The sessions provide a glimpse into the sources of wisdom with a comparative study of Classical philosophies across ancient cultures and civilizations. Through the classes, we unfold the path of philosophy from Knowledge to Wisdom and from learning to living, as we uncover the mysteries of human consciousness and development.

The foundation course is the first level of study of Philosophy being taught at numerous centers of New Acropolis International non profit Organization in over 60 countries for many years. This unique program of philosophy is a pre-requisite for membership to the organization as well to continue subsequent advance programs of philosophy. It is structured into 14 weekly sessions which are combination of both lectures and practical exercises that foster philosophical, cultural and volunteering engagements.

Living Philosophy Foundation course comprises of 3 divisions:

I Individual The mysteries of the Human self. Discovery and Awakening

II Society Coexistence and Human relationships.

III Mankind Esoteric History, Evolution and Destiny

Different levels of human consciousness with perspectives from the east and the west. What is transient and what is eternal?

The Wisdom of Ancient India

Learn the story of Arjuna the warrior. The Bhagavad Gita describes the battles of life and tools to help us win this battle. Universal laws of Dharma, Karma, discernment to identify and implement the right action.

Life and Teachings of the Buddha

Explore the life of the Buddha and his teaching through the Dhammapada. This gives us practical advice on how to overcome pain and suffering and live a noble life.

The Artist, The In Love And The Philosopher

Who Are You? Discover the wisdom of the ancient Romans through the Stoic philosophers. Epictetus, Seneca and Marcus Aurelius teach us simple and practical philosophy, of working with virtues as a path to progress.

Tools For Life From The Ancient World

Explore the wisdom of the ancient Egyptians, the idea of justice. From ancient China comes Confucius expounding the importance of an ethical social order.

The Light At The End Of The Cave

What is the identity of a philosopher, the true leader and a politician. The metaphor of Platos Allegory of the Cave, the grand illusion and how we can free ourselves from it.

Join us as we embark on this fascinating journey of bringing Philosophy alive !
