A beautiful and colorful event. All types of flowers arranged neatly with precision and decorated Valor. An amazing event to attend on the national festival. The fee is only 50 rupees which is completely 'paisa wasool'.

I go here every year, and it surprises me all the time ! A very nicely organized event with thought being put to using flowers and making a beauty out of it ! Going this year on 26th too.

It was a great workshop conducted by Shubhang Pandey. He has good knowledge about DSLR and photography and was patient enough to put it across to us. It's an art, that's what he believes and is passionate about it too. Over in all the workshop was helpful in making us understand the DSLR better and it was fun venturing out with the tricks learnt.

Lalbagh is a fresh and unpolluted natural place in Bangalore that takes you into nature. Their natural grown plant life makes Lalbagh a must-visit destination. If you love flowers and various types of plants, then do visit this place.

About Lalbagh

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a lush green paradise, sprawled across an area of 240 acres, located in the heart of Bangalore. The garden houses India's largest collection of tropical plants and is one of the main attractions for tourists in Bangalore.

Initially Hyder Ali commissioned the construction of Lalbagh garden as a private garden in 1760. He wanted to create this garden on the lines of the Mughal Gardens that were gaining popularity during his time. Later his son Tipu Sultan took the onus of completing it and it was subsequently developed by the British and Indian doyens of horticulture by extension of area and addition of a number of plant species.

The botanical garden is enriched with a wide range of native as well as exotic flora. There are nearly 673 types and 1,854 species of plants are found in Lalbagh. The park has some rare species of plants brought from Persia, Afghanistan and France. Some the trees here are over 100 years old!

Lalbagh has an intricate watering system for irrigation, with aesthetically designed lawns, flowerbeds, lotus pools and fountains and well laid-out roads.

Lalbagh serves as an important centre for spreading awareness about ornamental, environmental and economic value of plants. Regular training courses on fruit and vegetable processing, mushroom cultivation and ornamental gardening and horticulture are offered to the public by the Department of Horticulture at Lalbagh.

Lalbagh also has a famous glass house which hosts two annual flower shows. The Lalbagh Rock, one of the oldest rock formations on earth, dating back to 3,000 million years, is another attraction that appeals tourists.
