Hi,

I attended this 2 day workshop conducted by Ms Mridul Chandra during this long weekend. I must say, what a great way to spend your time creating something beautiful & learning new techniques. It was a very informative and interactive program. Ms Mridul is an amazing teacher and artist to learn from as she has a rich experience in various color mediums. Its an absolute delight to watch her paint with such ease & expertise. All my fears for water colors is now vanished! Thanks to Ms Mridul. The class was designed to focus on basic water color techniques, use of different types of brushes, papers and color mixing methods. We could finish 2 landscape art pieces in the 2 day workshop & also go to take back our finished artwork. Paper and art supplies were provided at the workshop. Ms Mridul was very supportive and personally attended each student correcting their techniques and answering doubts. She painted along with us so we could observe her methodology as she explained in detail.

Apart from the workshop, she also spent additional time to share information about various art programs running across Bangalore & about artists across the world. Several tips on how we should further enhance our skills in water color. We don't get such valuable information easily.

I highly recommend everyone to attend all future workshops conducted by Ms Mridul. Worth your time so as to get such valuable tips and advises on art. I am definitely going for the next session.

About Lahe Lahe

Lahe Lahe is a non-profit, performing arts theatre located in the Indiranagar, Bangalore. The place is the new buzz in the town for the performances and art related activities. It is also a social space for interaction and expression of individuals and the audiences. The ideology of expression is of prime importance and vision for Lahe Lahe.

Located on a rooftop terrace, in Indiranagar, Lahe Lahe is known as an expression space. The place is an initiative by Edifice Labs- Lahe-Lahe, which is an Assamese phrase, meaning slowly slowly.

Lahe Lahe is a non-profit community platform that provides the required resources to people to exhibit and inspire. It brings together amateur and closet artists in a live, interactive setting, setting them to express themselves without any exhibitions.

The aim of Lahe Lahe is to “bring expression back to the community, through movement, sound, theatre, words, images and any other forms”, and to encourage the sharing of these expressions by providing community space where ideas and audiences intermingle and enrich each other.

Lahe Lahe seeks to create an atmosphere where one can take that essential step back to slow down and quieten. Here people can take a break from their monotonous routine, slow down, break free from all inhibitions and give a free rein to their expression.

So be it music, dance, poetry, theatre and any form of art, Lahe Lahe welcomes one and all, to express and to witness the performances!

We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.

Friedrich Nietzsche

We strongly agree with Friedrich and thus want to start an open source community dance evening every Friday at Lahe Lahe.

Every Friday evening, we will meet to dance. A different theme every Friday- it can be Tango, Salsa, Bharatnatyam, Bollywood, Garba, Dandiya, Lavani, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ghumar or Kathak.Region no bar, gender no bar, age no bar. There may or may not be a trained facilitator but there will definitely be 1/2 people who can teach the dance according to the theme of the week so the idea is that we learn from each other and dance :) That's why the name Open Source!

It promises to be exciting but what will actually make it more exciting is your participation so do come and bring your friends along :) If they cant, worry not- come and make friends :)

For this friday, the theme is Bollywood - Classic and Contemporary. There will be a facilitator who will teach some basics. Come, lets get into the groove to welcome the new year by picking up some bollywood moves

Facilitator: Itee Rajput

Cost per person: 200

What Defines the Modern Indian Woman? "Dolls" Delves into their personal stories - part real, part fiction all through the sum of their experiences. Sometimes we seek way too much inspiration from idols and heroes at a distance, we forget the everyday challenges, conflicts women face, and more importantly, overcome. In different styles of Storytelling, Each of their stories, symbolized by a doll, that brings forth humour, pathos, wit, passion, grit and a myriad of emotions which we as a society have been ignorant of. Their stories may not seem special, but they ring true to the audience, and we experience it everyday - but it's special to them, the actors, as they LIVE it - everyday!
