Hi,

I attended this 2 day workshop conducted by Ms Mridul Chandra during this long weekend. I must say, what a great way to spend your time creating something beautiful & learning new techniques. It was a very informative and interactive program. Ms Mridul is an amazing teacher and artist to learn from as she has a rich experience in various color mediums. Its an absolute delight to watch her paint with such ease & expertise. All my fears for water colors is now vanished! Thanks to Ms Mridul. The class was designed to focus on basic water color techniques, use of different types of brushes, papers and color mixing methods. We could finish 2 landscape art pieces in the 2 day workshop & also go to take back our finished artwork. Paper and art supplies were provided at the workshop. Ms Mridul was very supportive and personally attended each student correcting their techniques and answering doubts. She painted along with us so we could observe her methodology as she explained in detail.

Apart from the workshop, she also spent additional time to share information about various art programs running across Bangalore & about artists across the world. Several tips on how we should further enhance our skills in water color. We don't get such valuable information easily.

I highly recommend everyone to attend all future workshops conducted by Ms Mridul. Worth your time so as to get such valuable tips and advises on art. I am definitely going for the next session.

About Lahe Lahe

Lahe Lahe is a non-profit, performing arts theatre located in the Indiranagar, Bangalore. The place is the new buzz in the town for the performances and art related activities. It is also a social space for interaction and expression of individuals and the audiences. The ideology of expression is of prime importance and vision for Lahe Lahe.

Located on a rooftop terrace, in Indiranagar, Lahe Lahe is known as an expression space. The place is an initiative by Edifice Labs- Lahe-Lahe, which is an Assamese phrase, meaning slowly slowly.

Lahe Lahe is a non-profit community platform that provides the required resources to people to exhibit and inspire. It brings together amateur and closet artists in a live, interactive setting, setting them to express themselves without any exhibitions.

The aim of Lahe Lahe is to “bring expression back to the community, through movement, sound, theatre, words, images and any other forms”, and to encourage the sharing of these expressions by providing community space where ideas and audiences intermingle and enrich each other.

Lahe Lahe seeks to create an atmosphere where one can take that essential step back to slow down and quieten. Here people can take a break from their monotonous routine, slow down, break free from all inhibitions and give a free rein to their expression.

So be it music, dance, poetry, theatre and any form of art, Lahe Lahe welcomes one and all, to express and to witness the performances!

Its location, Indiranagar, is one of the most well connected areas from all parts of the city. It was so great to be the hosts for the debut event of RANG- a wonderful blend of art and music. Was refreshing to see the vision, planning, enthusiasm and execution by them- especially Pankaj, Spoorthi and Arpit who have been personally interacting with us. You guys made Lahe Lahe look so beautiful on 8th. More power to you guys!
On 8th October Spoorthi, Pankaj and Arpit organized an art festival called RANG

inspired from the multitude of usages of the word and from Amir Khusro's kalam, "Aaj Rang hai ri!". RANG is envisioned to be a series of events featuring various artforms.

The first event was organized on 8th October at Lahe Lahe. It featured art exhibition by Spoorthi and Maadhurya and musical performances by Khanak, Ribhu, Rachintan, ANUJ DIMRI, Spoorthi, Pankaj, Suhas, BHAU, Pranav M Chitrabanu, Gregory, Ash Prad and Arpit .

In the "Open Mic" session Maanasa, Tanveen and Himanshi gave some amazing performances.

A big shout out to the man who clicked these beautiful pictures and covered the entire event, Nirmal.

A big thanks to Vasu for the videos, which we shall post soon.

We must also thank our friends Maanasa, Nikitha , Ritika and Vijay who volunteered to help us taking care of things.

We are glad we did this. Want more of this? Let us know on RANG.

Happening tonight ! Come off with Harish Bhuvan Gratitude Listening Circle
Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Now when we combine the attitude of Gratitude with the act of listening itself, it becomes magical. Let me share a story of two best friends who met after 25 years. They were together in the school and they used to share stories with each other.

Due to a lot many reasons like we all go through they couldnt continue to meet each other but always used to think about each other. One fine evening they both met each other in the middle of the city and look at each other with awe and hugged each other. One had become the CEO of a very famous company, other had become a monk. The monk asked him what is happening in your life. Business man says that I am doing this, I am doing that, and I am doing a lot many things. Monk in sheer shock just listens to him and holds space for the friend to speak. After about 20 minutes he stops. He asks, how are you? What are you doing these days? Monk says Im practicing to Be. I am practicing listening to all. Friend did not understand this act of listening.

In Bewilderment friend asks Monk, but why do you do this, and what do you get out of it? Monk answered: It is just an act of listening and each time that Im listening Im learning newer things. In addition to it I feel better each time I get to listen to stories.

Listening in itself is very important. These days people just hear you out, they are busy thinking about where they have to be after this meeting, what are they going to eat for supper, what should I wear for Saturdays party and so on.

This is going to a listening circle with an intention of gratitude. We invite you all to be a part of it, share stories and listen to stories. Welcome Home.

After 7 successful workshops at Lahe Lahe, I am back with an improved 8th edition of my popular VO workshop, incorporating all constructive feedback provided by the earlier participants.

Details below. Sign up now to avoid disappointment as it has been historically fast-filling!

TESTIMONIALS FROM EARLIER WORKSHOPS:

"The scope covered was v good.it was very interactive and trainer was approachable.she presented a picture as close as possible to reality about the expectations and work that goes behind it"

"It was all through to the point. We got know how to, where to, what to do. Anybody who attended the workshop is sure to be getting started in VO world."

"Thanks a ton, it was a great help. It was indeed a great idea to have a workshop for the first-timers."

"Real life, practical tips and insights to the industry and the work involved. Not many could have shared such an insider's view with such authority. "

"Found the following very useful 1. Intro to each type of VO 2. What to expect when starting out (mistakes, rejections, studio personnel lingo - higher vs louder) 3. Importance of networking 4. Tips to start out (websites, ear training etc.) 5. Studio session"

"The workshop met my expectations perfectly. I was looking to hear about how to get started, the challenges and limitations, the feasibility of doing this on the side of a full-time job, and your own personal journey. I think the workshop did justice to all of this. Your infectious personality helped a great deal!"
