About Dialogues Cafe Koramangala
You usually visit a coffee shop for some retreat and respite from the outward chaos, to do office work in peace. Almost all the cafes today offer free WiFi so that you can get your office work done, while sipping a hot cuppa. However in the back of your mind there’s always the thought of the coffee and food bill burning a hole in your pockets. Amidst all the cafes’ Dialogues café has stood out and is quickly gaining popularity because of its unique concept. Here you get charged only for the time you spend here.

Located in Koramangala in Bangalore, Dialogues Café is more like a social club with a cafe, work-space and library of sorts, all rolled into one. The other facilities of Dialogues Cafe include the permission to order food from outside, or bring you own tiffin. What else can anyone ask for in a café?!

Dialogues Café charges Rs 190 for the first hour and then Rs 3 per minute, at a maximum charge of Rs 1,000 for a day. There is a weekly plan for Rs 3,400, and monthly plan for Rs 6,900 per head.

Dialogues with Cinema (Bad Films)

"I can't go to a bad movie by myself. What, am I gonna make sarcastic remarks to strangers?" - Jerry Seinfeld

Bad films are bad. But some bad films are so bad that they're actually good.

We invite you to the January 2018 episode of Dialogues with Cinema. And this month we are discussing Bad Films.

The idea of Dialogues with Cinema is to bring together a group of people with a taste of quality cinema. (Or in the case of this session, cinema of questionable quality.) In this event the participants would discuss, share and exchange information about good movies from the selected genre. As a participant, you do not have to be a scholar in the movies, you just want to share, enjoy or build your knowledge about good movies.

It will be a 3 hour informal and engaging event where we divide time amongst participants who wish to share their favourite movie from the selected genre with the group.

Genre for January episode: Bad Films

Charges: INR 150 for regular customer, INR 100 for students . It includes one drink complimentary at Dialogues Cafe.

About the host Shivankar Jay :

Shivankar Jay formerly worked as an entertainment writer, currently works as a copywriter and is a cinema buff. He spent his summer vacations in a little island in Kerala called Vypin where, as he puts it, "he grew up at regular intervals."

Shivankar now lives in a basement, spending his waking hours watching films and talking about them. To his imaginary friends.

What makes a meaningful experience? The objects in view? The coffee in the cafe? The exchange of ideas?

The common denominator is often the conversations that occur and the connections that are made.

Join us in our series of Dialogues with Art which will offer collaborative art-making, building connections with people practicing different forms of art.

Dialogues with Art will be conducted on first Saturday of every month. Artists will gather. Some may talk while others may prefer to paint. They will decide upon a theme, which will be discussed for short while and then artists will spontaneously create an artwork around that theme. While it is impossible to predict how each dialogue will unfold, the process of discussing and creating together will reveal the connection between art & life.

All artists are welcome to be a part of Dialogue with Art.

*All material required to create an artwork ( paints, brushes, canvas, charcoal, pencils, etc.) must be brought in by the artists.

Artists may take away their creation home.

Join in and reflect through a dialogue in the form of an artwork!!!

Our host/ facilitator : Roopsi Jain

Roopsi is a Jewellery Designer and Bharatanatyam dancer. Her flair for art and creativity has made her learn various forms of traditional and contemporary styles of artwork. Having worked as an educator and teacher trainer has enabled her understand creative ways to exchange ideas and thoughts.

Self employed now, Roopsi conducts art workshops and creates her own products too. Her diverse experience in dance, art and design will be instrumental in facilitation of Dialogues with Art!
