About Clay Station Bangalore

Carefully guiding every dreamer of an artist, into a world where pigs smell like lavender, frogs collect ash and owls chime, Clay Station is bringing a whole lot of art to life! Started in 2009, Clay Station has been proving that anything is possible with a little imagination and a ball of clay. Reaching out to artists in the city, the academy is keen on helping artists build their passion, especially if it is the kind of art that involves pottery.

A rooftop studio only adds to the experience while the classes and sessions lets one explore both hand modelling and clay on the wheel. They encourage even the slightest hint of interest in Pottery.Hence they offer pottery classes for both kids and adults based on levels of learning both basic and advanced.

They also have open studio membership facility. This is a way of Clay Station providing studio space for artists and their work. They also provide the artists with all the facilities and equipment involved with the pottery making. Clay Station also reaches out to schools that want to involve pottery in the curriculum. They help them set up studio spaces for pottery classes and also train teachers who will be in turn, teaching the art to the kids.

Apart from these, Clay Station also helps with throwing some of the most creative parties for birthdays and other occasions. Clay Station's Design Centre offers some of the best earthenware, kitchenware and other ornaments to clients who are keen on.

Clay Station has in every way become one of the most happening ‘unwind’ centres in town and an artists hub!

Suneha Sen

Sunehas first meeting with clay was at the Surajkund mela (near Delhi) in 2002 where she made a tiny bowl on the potters wheel. In 2012, the love was rekindled when she joined Clay Station in Bangalore. Soon she left her corporate job to make pots that can be used everyday and narrate stories. Pottery gives her the freedom to use colours and create forms with clay that appeal to her.

ClayStation, Bangalore is a creative clay studio, for the aspiring, recreational and experienced potter. First started in 2009 as a collective of enthusiastic artists, Clay Station has grown out of their infectious passion for the art form. In an effort to share the therapeutic and creative joys of clay, they try their best to make pottery as accessible to you as possible. Today, the space doubles as an Open Pottery Studio and Design Centre, and a one-stop shop for pottery supplies. In the past eight years, we have also nurtured and supported upcoming potters in the city and the rest of the country. Some of their best will showcase their work at the Pop-up on December 17 2017

Join our Beginner's Guide to Sculpting!!

Sculpting a bust is something that beginners may find daunting. Human faces are complex, but there is a simple way to go about making a good looking face.

In this class, under the guidance of our sculptor, Barney Joseph, you will get to sculpt a bust in clay and have it casted in Plaster of Paris. The class will cover sculpting techniques, basic facial anatomy and proportions. This class will not cover mold making and casting.

There will be 3 classes of instruction where you will be sculpting along with the instructor thereby enabling you to learn a lot and get simultaneous feedback.

Once the bust is done, we will do all the processes required and give you a grey plaster cast of your work. This process will not be covered in this class.

If you would like to take more time to customize and add more details to your bust you can book a time slot and complete your work. This will not be a part of the workshop.

Starting Date : 7th October, Saturday

Session Dates :October 7th, 8th & 14th.

Timings : 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Course Fee : Rs.4200.00 (Including supplies & firing).
