The classes were aimed at teaching the various concepts involved in painting from basics to advanced. It was good that it also accommodated to address our specific interests in the type of painting sketching, still life, abstract and portraits. It was a very good experience.

Garima is a very good expert on birds and has a great knack of weaving in fun filled facts while doing / enabling bird watching. The location chosen was excellent for two reasons - more than 2 dozen species of birds and also demonstrates to city people that this pleasurable activity can be done with easy access for people who want to continue bird watching in their free time.

The material given was also a good 'starter kit'

The event started late. Events from before overshot their time with no good place to sit and there were mosquitos. It was a good very basic introduction class which I feel they overcharged for.

Slightly overpriced as the bottles were to be carried by the attendees and the range of decoration materials wasn't very impressive. None the less, definitely worth giving a shot since all that matters at the end is the new learning experience :) Will look forward to attending more events with this company!

About Bloom & Grow

A creative space dedicated towards artists, creative enthusiasts and aspiring artists to revive and start their journey in art. True to its name this space provides the perfect environment to artists to share, learn, grow and bloom in their creativity. It’s primarily a venue where various professional artists in different fields of art & craft conducts workshops, classes and events that encourages creativity bloom through different mediums.

Carol Pinto, a former corporate executive, created this studio space in 2012 as she wanted to pursue her passion for art and craft. Initially it was meant as a space for children to explore art beyond music and dance, and be an alternative learning space where different crafts were being taught and explored. Gradually the space became popular with crafters, artists and hobbyists to gather and collaborate on various workshops. They started conducting various classes and workshops for interested people.

Workshops, ranging from candle making, soap making to decoupage art and baking, are conducted here. Anything and everything art is propagated here, only limit is imagination and non-creative things. They have regular classes for anybody who is interested and over the age of six can attend the classes. Workshops are also held at regular intervals by professional artists. Apart from being a venue of workshops, this place also functions as a creative co-working space for artists. Bloom & Grow strives to create an ambiance that encourages and nurtures creativity.

#EncounterwiththeSelf is a series of workshops conceived with the intent of facilitating an authentic meeting with the Self, and exploring its network of relations with others and with the world.

The first programme of the series, "Embodiment, Expression, Ecstasy" is designed for all those interested in deep self exploration, emotional fullness and transformation, and happens this weekend at Bloom and Grow, Bangalore.

We shall explore embodiment, the connection between breath, movement, emotion and expression; and the journey to a heightened state of awareness.

How to -

. Be receptive and responsive. Not to do, but to respond. To not say no.

. Develop a sense of lightness, effortlessness and flow in our presence, work spontaneously yet with precision.

. Engage rigorously in free play, with courage and joy, making specific choices at each moment

. Explore the bhaavas through movement, gesture, voice, song and improvisation, to open a window to our inner universe.

Working with clay helps to bring out the artist and child in us. Clay is the most exciting art material for everyone to play with and to express their creative skill & imagination by hand to form 3-D art pieces. The Earthen clay is good on our skin since it is without chemicals. So you may dip your hands and keep modelling it endlessly. First playing with it and making any shapes and structure , later making any art piece .
